Settling in

For the last 4 months we have either been
packing or unpacking,
 loading or unloading,
buried in paper or buried in emotions
...hurting or collapsing :)
we rented a duplex close to our property
(but it's blue so I'm calling it the Bluplex, haha)
Surfer's Beach is right across the 1 and from our new place.

Meanwhile, Lucy was home quarantining from school for 2 weeks since there were covid cases on her floor and along with 2 teammates testing positive.
She helped with the tail end of leaving Santa Clarita and came up with us!

it was fun to have her home when we thought we wouldn't see her for the holidays :)
she makes everything better!
this year's Thanksgiving called for a simple turkey pot pie with
some pumpkin and apple pie on the side :)
unearthed middle school woodshop napkin rings seemed to fit the mood this Thanksgiving :)

Pillar Point Harbor is also across the street from us :)
what was once a sketchy part of the 1 is now a state park and path
Devil's Slide!

I think we've been to Toto's Pizzeria at least 3 times so
...we have definitely arrived :)

zoom church here
so not much has changed
Winter storm swells came and went
15 foot waves at least
Everyone is settling in.
We'll switch to the local schools for the new year.
Hoping for some nice friends to emerge :)
It has been a lot of work to get here
(we are tired!)
but seeing some familiar faces
and places has helped us ease in and be welcomed back home.
all is well :)

Audrey Graduates!

And just like that, she is done with high school! A couple of days before, I had her try on all the cords she received. We have lovingly teased her about being a boss lady for quite sometime, but it is a legitimate moniker! I think she was pleased to have more cords than her older siblings too:) Cords and what they represent: white-Seminary graduate red- Red Cross club rainbow- art for 2+ years with an A purple-maintaining a 4.0 GPA for 7+ semesters blue & green- completing 200+ service hours blue & gold- National Honor Society club She decorated her cap as a future cougar:) Still planning her outfits out since kindergarten and I love it. Picking up the older kids the day of her graduation...haha Our go-to Hawaiian plate lunch meal for graduation! 💗Ready to go💗 Aunt Marcie flew in for the best surprise visit!  She made it memorable for everyone.  And served as our graduation photographer. If I hadn't been so busy, I would have cried upon her arrival💗 Cougar for life! It

London Layovers

This post is going backwards because this is one of the last photos I took in London before we went home.  I was also feeling very sick but adrenaline kicked in....because hello, it's LONDON ! I completely loved London.  I wasn't expecting that at all.  I thought I'd like it but I LOVED it.   I'm already calculating when I can go back with the girls:) Our charter bus from the cruise dropped us at Heathrow 7 hours early and the airline attendant when checking our bags noted that we  "were quite early" :) So we hopped on the Elizabeth Line and walked over to Hyde Park. It was full of friends, and dogs off leash with their owners, families...just everything. It just felt perfect. Like, was this real? Am I in a movie? Are these accents real? Oh wait...I'm the one with the accent:)  ( Remember, I have never really traveled outside of the the country and now the pandoras box of traveling is officially open...okay,  I digress...) Anyway, back to our afternoon  i

We Are Officially Building That House!

And....we're off! First concrete pour was a success Along with a crew involving other people outside  of our humble brigade! This is the garage floor which really should be called  Clay's shop floor haha let's be honest here :) the mastermind at hand :) ten years ago we took this photo upon our move into the Milkbarn, the home that changed me, changed all of us really. What an era that was for us! I mentioned to Clay as we build our home here on the coast,  my heart will finally mend from leaving Boulder. We are much older(sigh),  much wiser(that's good!),  and even more patient(almost killed us and we wanted to quit too many times to count). But here we are.  The immense joy we get when we work together creatively is really something else. It's taken us forever. The pieces are fitting together. God definitely took his time with us. And now...we're back :) (p.s. most of what we'll do will be in my stories section on my instagram @jenniferjoycolli
