A quick look back at me trying to whip together our holiday after moving!

 White Christmas and candy decorating
(Lucy had a couple of days off around December 19th since she was not traveling with her team for games)

I coerced the family to see a light installation by an artist in Golden Gate Park.
 It's part of the 150 year celebration.
trees and bushes were built and wired to change color

the people who gathered to watch gave collective oohs and ahs as the art would blend from one hue to the other

The weather has been amazing. 
Gifting us afternoon hikes around town as we get to know the coast side better!

Poor Santa crashed during our reading and singing of the Christmas story

but as always, the stockings were stuffed with care :)
But we know the real Santa made this happen by midnight :)
Moms are magical...
I still make them wait, brush their teeth and make their beds on
Christmas morning...haha

We still take turns opening presents and finding joy in all the reactions :)



Christmas games, our annual do nothing for 2-3 days while eating a ton and finishing a Christmas puzzle was complete.
It was a really nice and peaceful Christmas :)

Here she is.  On a split.  In the campo(country)! Dominican Republic Time hop to May when she received her tags :) Her paper giving her permission to proselyte! Pre-mission things to do were: picture with flag at temple ✓ hikes in the sun✓ being set apart as a missionary in our home✓ home mtc p-day shenanigans✓ last taco bell supper :) ✓ hugs that need to last 18 months✓ Her first MTC phone call home. She had too much fun there but why not? This missionary mom will send you one package to the mtc... and that's it :) Upon arrival, she met her mission presidents!  Presidente y Hermana Chaverri Meeting her trainer in the field:) And after a mini transfer, meeting her new trainer! The Milkbarn Path

Before fall came, Clay was determined to design and construct a walkway to the Milkbarn. Yay!!! Because we had a very narrow, shoddy (what? shoddy at the milbarn? *gasp*) ,  unevenly paved sidewalk to the front door which we knew needed a serious redo.  We bought the pavers from Lowes awhile ago and had them piled up in front of the house for months.  FYI, voles make homes under pavers.   Doesn't it look awesome ? Nice, wide, perfect curve and now easy to shovel when the snow comes. The curve looks just right against the angles of the house. I planted some tulips under the trees and near the front door.  I'm not holding my breath that anything will come up given my gardening expertise.  But again, I do believe in miracles. :) Truth! ! 1600 Sq. ft and going strong...and now with a pathway! I was trying to think of all the photos that have a pathway or walkway in them.  Here we are at the Fort Colli...

February 2019: Queen of Hearts

                                                                            💘 February is a mix of triumph over January and the heart filled cooler days until March. It's like the happy bridge to spring. But I live in a place right now where winter kind of feels  like a Colorado spring.  We even got snow the other day here! Turning a Nike shoe box into a valentine collector Chester's homemade class valentines :) Audrey's socks given to her by her sunday school teachers! She is kind of the queen of February On Valentine's day Chester's class was invited to make lunch and decorate at the Santa Clarita Valley food services for both elementary school districts. It was a big honor, only one class out of the 4 districts it services was chosen by lottery....
