Captains Log: Week 7 ( I can't do this anymore)

"great views of that which is to come"

holding to this but wavering a bit
(honest truth)

some views of our life on week 7

trying to stay positive but overall...morale is low on the ship
:(
this was the week California was supposed to start getting back to normal
sigh....

the view of our legs just boggles my mind
so long!

and then with inflatable feet...taken at 9 am :)

the view of summer on my mantle

the killer green thumb in me is trying to have an indoor plant!
my mom verified that I could not kill this one :)

really?

my sister Marcie encouraged me with "you can always buy another one"
in case an untimely death occurs

views from Project Saturday last week at Lowe's :)

I decided enough was enough, this nuclear green explosion needed to go.
If we can't move this summer,
then I must be able to live without being visually assaulted
as pointed out by my niece Melissa :)

so much better already!

calm and relaxing is the way I need a laundry space to be

the paint color is "play it cool" by Sherwin Williams

I put out a little Georgia O'Keefe print with some lavender gifted by my dear friend Janet from our Milkbarn days.

At this point, the front room is just an enormous mudroom.
This photo completely embarrasses me :(

April 28th was the day the white iceberg roses popped everywhere
 in the front and back.
So, things look better on the outside :)

Going back to that Project Saturday,
 Clay has built a garden
 on the hill with Lucy.
They are two peas in a pod :)

garden hugs!

sunset from the garden...it is my favorite time of day here

Also, while everyone was out in back...I did some therapeutic cookie baking.
I tried a new recipe called Monster Cookies.
I try a lot of things based on a good name and a visual :)

view of Lucy doing her morning run with Melissa

I think these runs and workouts have gotten her through this time in her life and it's all a big toss up still....sigh...will they start in the fall?
keeps me up at night

view of the kids becoming even better friends and hanging out in the back

pruning a date palm was never something
I have anticipated happening in my life
haha

more roses hidden from view in the back

and one view of a very very naughty snail

it's not even Friday but I'm calling it a week already
somehow week 7 just has gotten to all of us
I started a book,
Chester is rereading the harry potter series,
and movies...lots of fun movies since we just haven't had the time for any leisure watching until now
So each night we pick one out :)

Last week I thought just follow the directives Jennifer!
and this week, I'm like...what's the difference
if Target is open or Nordstrom Rack?
grrrr....
everything and nothing is making sense this week
and I have been getting terrible headaches...

If I am cracking...then I think we are all cracking ..
Commence the cracking !!!

Onward Jennifer, onward.

Audrey Graduates!

And just like that, she is done with high school! A couple of days before, I had her try on all the cords she received. We have lovingly teased her about being a boss lady for quite sometime, but it is a legitimate moniker! I think she was pleased to have more cords than her older siblings too:) Cords and what they represent: white-Seminary graduate red- Red Cross club rainbow- art for 2+ years with an A purple-maintaining a 4.0 GPA for 7+ semesters blue & green- completing 200+ service hours blue & gold- National Honor Society club She decorated her cap as a future cougar:) Still planning her outfits out since kindergarten and I love it. Picking up the older kids the day of her graduation...haha Our go-to Hawaiian plate lunch meal for graduation! đź’—Ready to gođź’— Aunt Marcie flew in for the best surprise visit!  She made it memorable for everyone.  And served as our graduation photographer. If I hadn't been so busy, I would have cried upon her arrivalđź’— Cougar for lif...

London Layovers

This post is going backwards because this is one of the last photos I took in London before we went home.  I was also feeling very sick but adrenaline kicked in....because hello, it's LONDON ! I completely loved London.  I wasn't expecting that at all.  I thought I'd like it but I LOVED it.   I'm already calculating when I can go back with the girls:) Our charter bus from the cruise dropped us at Heathrow 7 hours early and the airline attendant when checking our bags noted that we  "were quite early" :) So we hopped on the Elizabeth Line and walked over to Hyde Park. It was full of friends, and dogs off leash with their owners, families...just everything. It just felt perfect. Like, was this real? Am I in a movie? Are these accents real? Oh wait...I'm the one with the accent:)  ( Remember, I have never really traveled outside of the the country and now the pandoras box of traveling is officially open...okay,  I digress...) Anyway, back to our afternoo...

Sports Mom Era

I think I saw this coming but maybe I didn't really see this coming:) I am a sports mom. Plain and simple. I had other hats too like library mom, classroom aid mom, costumes for musicals mom, outdoorsy hiking mom, musical mom, jazz band mom, tech crew mom, art mom, spring break mom, etc etc etc But sports mom has been a pretty big theme in my life:) So, in honor of my Dad's birthday today and his absolute love of sports, I share this to save the memoires.  Because one day, it will be just that, sweet and crazy sports mom era memories:) Okay, so I love JV games because the weather at 4pm in the Bay Area and even coast side was amazing last year. Tee shirt and jeans? Heavenly  Fall 2024 (he already looks different) Friday morning fits Becky Ruppel photography↑ In the middle of football season lies the beast of the high school basketball pancake breakfast. It was actually fun to serve all of the people coming through... even the complainers...haha Homecoming! And nothing better t...
