Clay surprised us on Christmas morning and
told us he got a room on Union Square in San Francisco!
St. Regis mezzanine looking down on the lobby
all those details that make san francisco special on the inside :)
Lucy had a tournament in Menlo Park just south on the peninsula...so we stayed in the city on the 26th and 27th
Union Square fun and then we took the cable car over to Ghiradelli Square...very touristy but had too.
maiden lane lit up
looking down from the cable car on Coit Tower and the Bay Bridge, ate brownie sundaes at the square...line of the night-Clay,
"world's best cup of coffee"
looking down on the tree from my bed...good night view!
good morning view!
hotel breakfast was a highlight each morning with a delicious buffet, I told the kids to just stuff themselves so we wouldn't have to get lunch, haha
Audrey got her christmas wish to ice skate...we purchased 10am tickets to skate...while I watched!
back at the hotel in the super wide hallways
after skating we headed to Chinatown!
each of them got to choose something to buy
view of the TransAmerica building at a hole in the wall chinese bakery/chow fun place...we ordered bbq steam buns, egg custards and a chinese donut :)
hotel lobby shot
the second morning (and last) we headed out early to go to each floor of the Macy's building( the top floor had a graffiti wall) then onward to Neiman Marcus(oh my gosh, I love that store still) to check out the tree in the rotunda,
Britex to shop for fabric...of course!
after the store exploring we had to get going, I noticed the Santa letter box on our way out. Too cute.
we crossed the bay bridge to pick up Clay from work on Treasure Island then headed home...Lucy was playing and having fun with her team(we saw them play once)...it was a short but sweet trip.
Of course it felt like home all over again.
oh! but before we got into the city we took the kids to Montara and Pacifica!
We took a photo in front of our 1st apartment as a married couple :)
Chester said, "wow, you guys have only lived by the ocean!"
Montara State Beach
it was a very typical, blustery, "poldark" day on the coast
and one last check on our land.
we still want to do something with it other than grow weeds for the neighbors :)
Someday maybe.
