Just Arrived: The Apartment (cue celebration music)

Welcome back to the Milkbarn!  We have finally ripped the whole main room out.  It smells as good as it looks. Come over, I'll take you for a tour! Don't worry, we have masks. RIP alpine lake mural wall. We had some good times together.  Sitting under you contemplating burning the house down.... yes, good times. Demolishing the hearth.  I cannot wait to whitewash a new brick we'll use for it! We had knotty pine paneling in the living space. We wanted to save it to reuse but it was so old and brittle, all of it just broke off into pieces.  Close up of the spectacular alpine lake mural. You're right. That says Collins Kids Perfect Miral. Our 1st Christmas vacation here at the Milkbarn and I let the kids write and draw all over the mural, thinking it would be coming down by summer and how cool it would be as a memory.  Of course I was wrong .   Why would I be right about anything here? We have a quarantine on our neighborhood due to the emerald ash borer so when we got the email saying the fire department down the road would be chipping for free...we halted everything and sent about 5 truckloads down! Our part time helper Hunter is heaven sent. Thanks Hunter! Working hard. Hardly working. Clay really wants to teach the kids to work.  Somehow my faith is waning. This place is full of distractions. They command attention. And then I think...do they get headaches?  I should really be watching the road. Chester getting the mail( kind of working here ) A neighbor proudly celebrating memorial day. I want a big beautiful american flag for the Milkbarn soon.  Last week ...

My Mother's Day

I love this idea.  And I really do want them to remember me. (Like the time I threw lettuce on the ground? that one is forever etched into their brains) Audrey came and got my order for breakfast.  Cute little menu! Breakfast!  I really don't like cooking on the weekend and luckily, they all made me food...all day long. Mother's Day eve at Henry's 1st piano recital with Jasmine.  He made us proud. Earlier in the week a kind friend brought me flowers.  The day before that Chester and I went to the library and I had him pose with his favorite book.  W hen he was 3 this book had to be checked out all the time.  Here are some of the things I do as a mother: Video game fridays play outside no matter the weather make blanket head wraps take poorly lit selfies with them i try and go do interesting things to remind me of who I am and what I like And remind them of what i...
