2025 Wrapped!

Well, here you are 2025!

Sometimes I get a thought to do something, and the thought I had was to write about last year.
I'm not sure why.
I have lost touch with writing about myself because maybe I feel like there isn't anything to say or just too much to say.
It's a time of life where you wonder if anyone cares?
So this one's for posterity and the day this finds me in a chair not remembering anything about my life.
haha
you think I'm joking my my elderly self might thank me!
JANUARY
January views from the home that just can't quite get built❤
college Audrey home and getting love after her mission call to the Dominican Republic
I took myself on a day date to the Legion of Honor museum in the city on a gorgeous sun filled January day!
My dear friend Marna came out for her father's documentary film shown on the Stanford campus.
I love her.
FEBRUARY
Headed out to Utah for Audrey's 19th birthday!
We had a great time with her new friends from college:)

I think I have the best daughters--
they are loving, appreciative, intelligent, beautiful,
thoughtful and generous
And got to celebrate Haylee becoming a mother!
The back drop of each month is our weekend work on the beach house. Chester becoming proficient in electrical work is a pay off:)
One of the beast things about Henry at Cal is that mom can visit Henry at Cal for lunch!
Every February the schools are off for Ski Week, so we headed to LA. Met Marty and Diane at Disneyland!
I found out this is the optimal date for a mother son day.
He had way more fun than he thought he would.
I loved EVERY minute of it!
Success:)

Paul and Janet with grandson Felix in tow came out for a Sunday visit and all I'm going to say is that I may have cried that night because I miss them so much.
I miss a lot of my Colorado friends.
They loved us all so well💗
And here's that house again...always in the back drop while simultaneously being in the forefront of our lives.
MARCH
Birthday month in cheap sunglasses because I asked a girl at a taco shop in Huntington Beach where she got hers and straight away ordered them.
Have I ever made it public I have a sunglasses problem?
Bed linens and sunglasses have a hold on me
hahaha
Audrey came home for the weekend in early March and received her endowment in the Oakland Temple...such a special day for us💖

Here we are all together.
Yay!

My sister Lisa came into town...I captured her here filming the quiet flow of water through Purisima Creek Redwoods Reserve. She has a spectacular nature channel on YouTube creating nature moments!
I love that she does this:)

March is always a double Filoli visit
At this point in my writing I am wondering what's the purpose of this? To tell you what we did? Or to tell you how I feel?
The older I become, I have found that life is tiring me out. Gone are the days of my full throttle yet low key energy.
Here is a year where I'm not sure if I can remember any of it? Although I can say, I spent a good portion of 2025 utterly stressed and worried for those I love. I wish I could've just turned that off but I could not.
Is that depressing?
Not sure
But it is what happened:)
And it was how I felt.
Sonoma to surprise us all with purchasing a 1968 GMC step side truck
but make it orange!
Chester has worked on the house every weekend.
I think he's earned it:)
I turned 54
Every year I say I don't like the age I'm turning
hahaha
Marcie sent me this ab fab arrangement--she loves to celebrate her family and friends:)it's a talent she has and I am grateful for💗
I decorated my table and Henry made my lemon jell-o cake which needs to be replaced. The recipe does not work here...not sure why...
so maybe I just need to move on.
Or just make a lemon bundt cake or something?
I love these opposite end of the spectrum sons of mine.
They melt me.
APRIL
Chester and I drove out to Utah for Spring Break!
We made a plan to visit Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park with Sarina and Alex.
It was so fun!
Although, I had social anxiety.
What if my life long friend thinks I am lame on a vacation?
oh stop it Jennifer 🤣
Me and Sarina!

He LOVED the Narrows.
My leg muscles did not.
I hobbled the next day at Bryce :(
That was embarrassing to me.
Zions was incredible!
Alex and Sarina were so easy to be with.
I'm sad our spring breaks do not line up in 2026.
Boo. We wanted to do Hawaii together:)

Sarina and Alex left for home and we hit Provo for a
BYU Mens volleyball game with Lucy:)
And then after Chester flew home for school, I stayed in Utah courtesy of Sarina's beautiful home, and was able to move Audrey out of the dorms.
So long May Hall!
And just look at this good looking young man passing his permit test!
In N Out for a congratulatory brunch haha

An end of April still life at home:)
April was very good to us
MAY
We hosted Audrey's friends Eliza and Savannah for week here before they began their missions!

We got to attend Ron Tutor's retirement party at the Waldorf Astoria in Beverly Hills😍
It was so chic! I had fun putting together something more LA to wear and I may have been the best dressed one there.
No black cocktail dress here :)

The next day we went through design stores and attended the temple together with a good lunch!
The perfect LA day date to celebrate our 24th anniversary

Had breakfast with John and Sarina in Venice :)

Also took Audrey to Phoenix to see Grandma and the cousins before she left for her mission. We had a short and sweet time with family.

May was full of mission prep

Photos at the temple with her country flag✔

Walks along the water, outings, last meals and treats.
We tried to do what we could do to savor all the moments with Audrey.

5am flights meant we woke up at 3am for her send off😢
The picture I never shared on social media might say it all.
Letting go of your child and letting trust in the Lord take over is a whole thing you don't know about until you actually do it!
Or maybe I'm just emotionally wrecked with change haha
I don't know but this was me saying goodbye to her:)

The rest of June was Father's Day and cute man boy cousin visits!

JULY
Lucy came home for her birthday weekend and turned 23, spending time in the city and on the coast:)
Audrey being the coolest girl around in the Mexico City MTC...or CCM as they call it!
hanging out on our future deck keeping Clay company on a rare sunny 4th of July day!
My next set of nephews came through. Oh, I loved them. There energy to go go go and their energy to chill. Here we are picking olallieberries in Pescadero:)

I spent the summer going to the movies about every other week, so they happily went along to see the live action How to Train Your Dragon :)
Lady Gaga Mayhem tour was worth every single penny.
The best show I have seen...maybe ever!
It was art. True art in pop music form.
We had the best time as little monsters.

The siding is up!
Another hurdle passed.
Audrey meeting her mission presidents and her trainer!
She arrived in the DR July 16th🌴
AUGUST
More birthdays!
Henry turned 21.
I decorated, Lucy and I had a blast making him a birthday basket with *almost 21 things and they had fun making the cake
Henry had a vision of:)

Convinced Henry to go up to Russian River with us.
So fun. I laughed at my red headed twins out there on the water, tubing (un)successfully down. It's always delightful. I love going up there for a day.
It just makes me feel like it's summer!
Lucy drove out to Utah with me to attend Danielle and Jarom's wedding in the woods.
It was truly magical.
Clay turned 51.
I hate all this aging business hahaha
The Lowe's dates are back on.
Sigh.
To end August the county installed a permanent staircase down to Surfer's Beach. Hallelujah!
SEPTEMBER
It's official, school started and here I am working the football gate during the JV game:) I decided this year to wear school colors to every game...so here is a very very orange hoodie:)
Even though he watched housewives on his phone, I'm glad Henry showed up to support Chester!
I called this phone call--stripes on call!
I set aside Mondays for Audrey.
After a year of teaching primary with Danica, I was released. I love these kids! I was happier going to church working with them:)
😭
Here is sweet 16!
HE got to play a game on his birthday...best present ever!
Bringing Clay leftovers for lunch at the house is my Saturday schedule now...
OCTOBER
Chester asked the most beautiful to homecoming with a bouquet he made for her.
This kid is a romantic at heart:)
Unfortunately they lost their homecoming game in a double overtime. So dramatic!
But the next night it was all smiles.
I think they had a fun time:)

What I haven't chronicled is my sleepless nights riddled with anxiety helping to put together the Pumpkin Festival Annual Pancake Breakfast(all summer through fall).
All proceeds go to the basketball program.
To offset the anxiety I was able to make some very good and kind friends!
I look very tall in that picture though hahaha
I headed out to Utah to help Lucy recover from her ACL/ Meniscus surgery. We cried laughed over the AI cartoon created from it's original form
hahaha
How in the world did it capture her impish gaze?
A long road to recovery for her :(
I got to meet Scarlette, Leslie's granddaughter:)
NOVEMBER
playoff win versus Burlingame was insane.
Representing Chetty Bear #84
I had my mom come out for a couple of weeks and extended it through Thanksgiving which was so nice for her💛🦃

matching pedicures, St. Helena day, got her to walk out onto the beach barefoot...all good things!

Dinner with Grandma and the Fewkes kids!

DECEMBER

the Christmas season came in like a happy heart faced emoji

We missed Audrey but made it into the city for a holiday lunch and walk around downtown...i loved it!
Christmas eve dinner I kind of took the reigns and did a delicious soup, salad and bread by Clay...with an delicious orange chocolate cake:)
getting to talk with Hermana Collins on Christmas Eve
Christmas day was our highlight🌟

Christmas day power outages mean we call PPQ in the city---
are you open?!?
It was perfect and comforting :)

New Years Eve games revealing myself or my future self.
A year with a lot of work---emotional, spiritual and physical and just not sure if I have it in me for another year of uncertainty.

But here we are!
Onward to 2026
Here's to a supernatural, believable, and eternal year.

Sports Mom Era

I think I saw this coming but maybe I didn't really see this coming:) I am a sports mom. Plain and simple. I had other hats too like library mom, classroom aid mom, costumes for musicals mom, outdoorsy hiking mom, musical mom, jazz band mom, tech crew mom, art mom, spring break mom, etc etc etc But sports mom has been a pretty big theme in my life:) So, in honor of my Dad's birthday today and his absolute love of sports, I share this to save the memoires.  Because one day, it will be just that, sweet and crazy sports mom era memories:) Okay, so I love JV games because the weather at 4pm in the Bay Area and even coast side was amazing last year. Tee shirt and jeans? Heavenly  Fall 2024 (he already looks different) Friday morning fits Becky Ruppel photography↑ In the middle of football season lies the beast of the high school basketball pancake breakfast. It was actually fun to serve all of the people coming through... even the complainers...haha Homecoming! And nothing better t...

Audrey's off! Santo Domingo East Mission

Here she is.  On a split.  In the campo(country)! Dominican Republic Time hop to May when she received her tags :) Her paper giving her permission to proselyte! Pre-mission things to do were: picture with flag at temple ✓ hikes in the sun✓ being set apart as a missionary in our home✓ home mtc p-day shenanigans✓ last taco bell supper :) ✓ hugs that need to last 18 months✓ Her first MTC phone call home. She had too much fun there but why not? This missionary mom will send you one package to the mtc... and that's it :) Upon arrival, she met her mission presidents!  Presidente y Hermana Chaverri Meeting her trainer in the field:) And after a mini transfer, meeting her new trainer! Her spanish will improve exponentially (she is from Nicaragua!)  The scripture she shared as she was in the Mexico MTC:)  I wrote it out so each day I could walk by it and remember her, and  remember the joy the gospel of Jesus Christ brings💗 I cry a little more nowadays but she has ...

The Milkbarn Path

Before fall came, Clay was determined to design and construct a walkway to the Milkbarn. Yay!!! Because we had a very narrow, shoddy (what? shoddy at the milbarn? *gasp*) ,  unevenly paved sidewalk to the front door which we knew needed a serious redo.  We bought the pavers from Lowes awhile ago and had them piled up in front of the house for months.  FYI, voles make homes under pavers.   Doesn't it look awesome ? Nice, wide, perfect curve and now easy to shovel when the snow comes. The curve looks just right against the angles of the house. I planted some tulips under the trees and near the front door.  I'm not holding my breath that anything will come up given my gardening expertise.  But again, I do believe in miracles. :) Truth! ! 1600 Sq. ft and going strong...and now with a pathway! I was trying to think of all the photos that have a pathway or walkway in them.  Here we are at the Fort Colli...
