So I' ve Started A Montgomery Annual Beach Day

Last week my sister Marcie was making a visit to my Dad with her family in San Diego and invited us to join!  We made a one night reservation at the hotel they stayed at, packed the car with beach gear, dropped off Clay at LAX for his fishing trip to Alaska and here we are. 9:30 am on a Carlsbad beach :)

Ella, Cora and Avery

Cora and her collected plate of shells

and charmed by Henry building sand castles with her :)

Chester has spent his whole summer swimming at the pool and beaching with family.
He loves it!

Marcie is pointing to Scott's emerging head from a wave :)

Queen Cora got a sand throne with the help of her grandpa
(my brother Marty)

Jonah hunkering down after getting thrashed around by a wave...it was unusually rough water that day!

Lucy completely conked out under the canopy

like I said, it was rough!

later that night we went out for ice cream at Handels in Encinitas.
 Oh man. So good.

older cousins with braces with cute little cousins at Roberto's for some dinner

Chester and Daniel sporting the same shirt and most likely talking about sports :)

Sunday morning we met up at a little park before the Shumans drove back to Arizona
look at that sky!

annual photo with Marcie

it's funny how the boys bombed it and not the girls

one last stop at Juanita's for lunch before making our way home

At the end of it all I told Marty we should do this once a year and he said...twice a year! So, that's what we'll do. Thanks to Marcie for showing up and making a fun day. My favorite part was getting in the water with my family and siblings to talk, ride waves, laugh, and get crushed.
Oh how I wish we lived much closer.
Until the next time!

Audrey Graduates!

And just like that, she is done with high school! A couple of days before, I had her try on all the cords she received. We have lovingly teased her about being a boss lady for quite sometime, but it is a legitimate moniker! I think she was pleased to have more cords than her older siblings too:) Cords and what they represent: white-Seminary graduate red- Red Cross club rainbow- art for 2+ years with an A purple-maintaining a 4.0 GPA for 7+ semesters blue & green- completing 200+ service hours blue & gold- National Honor Society club She decorated her cap as a future cougar:) Still planning her outfits out since kindergarten and I love it. Picking up the older kids the day of her graduation...haha Our go-to Hawaiian plate lunch meal for graduation! 💗Ready to go💗 Aunt Marcie flew in for the best surprise visit!  She made it memorable for everyone.  And served as our graduation photographer. If I hadn't been so busy, I would have cried upon her arrival💗 Cougar for life! It

London Layovers

This post is going backwards because this is one of the last photos I took in London before we went home.  I was also feeling very sick but adrenaline kicked in....because hello, it's LONDON ! I completely loved London.  I wasn't expecting that at all.  I thought I'd like it but I LOVED it.   I'm already calculating when I can go back with the girls:) Our charter bus from the cruise dropped us at Heathrow 7 hours early and the airline attendant when checking our bags noted that we  "were quite early" :) So we hopped on the Elizabeth Line and walked over to Hyde Park. It was full of friends, and dogs off leash with their owners, families...just everything. It just felt perfect. Like, was this real? Am I in a movie? Are these accents real? Oh wait...I'm the one with the accent:)  ( Remember, I have never really traveled outside of the the country and now the pandoras box of traveling is officially open...okay,  I digress...) Anyway, back to our afternoon  i

We Are Officially Building That House!

And....we're off! First concrete pour was a success Along with a crew involving other people outside  of our humble brigade! This is the garage floor which really should be called  Clay's shop floor haha let's be honest here :) the mastermind at hand :) ten years ago we took this photo upon our move into the Milkbarn, the home that changed me, changed all of us really. What an era that was for us! I mentioned to Clay as we build our home here on the coast,  my heart will finally mend from leaving Boulder. We are much older(sigh),  much wiser(that's good!),  and even more patient(almost killed us and we wanted to quit too many times to count). But here we are.  The immense joy we get when we work together creatively is really something else. It's taken us forever. The pieces are fitting together. God definitely took his time with us. And now...we're back :) (p.s. most of what we'll do will be in my stories section on my instagram @jenniferjoycolli
