Christmas break 2014. Who said break?

Clay took two weeks off to coincide with the kids break.
So obviously, we worked on the house.

Child labor.
Lucy is 5'11 1/2" now.
That is kind of a big child.
So, it really doesn't apply to her.
She is taller than me!!!

Before Clay installed our Lowes off the shelf
 kitchen in the apartment.

After!

Audrey manning the hole.
Her job was to stay near to get Lucy and Clay what they needed
while they were under the house.
They were insulating and plumbing.
What a great Christmas break for our kids.
Memories come in different ways.
Hopefully these will last forever.
Remember when mom and Dad made us work over break? They are so lame!

The apartment bathroom.
Clay makes Lowes in stock tiles look fancy.
Audrey learned how to tile and use the spacers.
Wait...I don't even know that!
We are prepping her for her career in design.

The kitchen.
Note the Butte chandelier in the top left corner.
That's an Alaskan reference.
Ask Dad.

Wood floors were delivered to put in the kitchen.
They need to be delivered 2 weeks prior to installation to acclimate.
Who knew?

If you are wondering what my jobs are while we remodel...
Let me tell you!
1. Be supportive. Seriously.
2. Not complain. I have perfected it!
3. See the big picture for our life here.
4. Still be a mother of 4.
5. Design the interior. That is work!
6. Paint the interior.
7. Clean up the interior constantly.
8. Call or make appointments and say things like...we need a blah blah tank for our septic. See, even I don't want to remember that. Apparently, I have been reassigned due to my lack of enthusiasm.
9.Seems like I don't do much. But I do.
I am positive I had more energy with newborns.
10. Do more stuff that I can't remember.
Oh, and be patient!
We are so used to having so much convenience in life.
I have learned I am capable of far more patience than I thought.
Clay is working full time in Charlotte now so, patience is a must. Not just in our daily life with him gone
but in putting a project this large on hold is....huge!
There's the trailer park mustache again.
Memories.
Or nightmares.

It was very cold the week after Christmas.
So cold, the sky just stayed a frozen blue hue.
There is no filter on these photos!

Across the street from our post office in the canyon.

Chester playing in the front yard.
It was -3 out.
Crazy boys.

Our winter bunnies.

More winter bunnies.

We took an afternoon to sled the day after Christmas.
There is a little hill by the middle school.

This is how we will be approaching 2015.
Full throttle, all together.

It's the journey that matters.

Audrey Graduates!

And just like that, she is done with high school! A couple of days before, I had her try on all the cords she received. We have lovingly teased her about being a boss lady for quite sometime, but it is a legitimate moniker! I think she was pleased to have more cords than her older siblings too:) Cords and what they represent: white-Seminary graduate red- Red Cross club rainbow- art for 2+ years with an A purple-maintaining a 4.0 GPA for 7+ semesters blue & green- completing 200+ service hours blue & gold- National Honor Society club She decorated her cap as a future cougar:) Still planning her outfits out since kindergarten and I love it. Picking up the older kids the day of her graduation...haha Our go-to Hawaiian plate lunch meal for graduation! 💗Ready to go💗 Aunt Marcie flew in for the best surprise visit!  She made it memorable for everyone.  And served as our graduation photographer. If I hadn't been so busy, I would have cried upon her arrival💗 Cougar for life! It

London Layovers

This post is going backwards because this is one of the last photos I took in London before we went home.  I was also feeling very sick but adrenaline kicked in....because hello, it's LONDON ! I completely loved London.  I wasn't expecting that at all.  I thought I'd like it but I LOVED it.   I'm already calculating when I can go back with the girls:) Our charter bus from the cruise dropped us at Heathrow 7 hours early and the airline attendant when checking our bags noted that we  "were quite early" :) So we hopped on the Elizabeth Line and walked over to Hyde Park. It was full of friends, and dogs off leash with their owners, families...just everything. It just felt perfect. Like, was this real? Am I in a movie? Are these accents real? Oh wait...I'm the one with the accent:)  ( Remember, I have never really traveled outside of the the country and now the pandoras box of traveling is officially open...okay,  I digress...) Anyway, back to our afternoon  i

We Are Officially Building That House!

And....we're off! First concrete pour was a success Along with a crew involving other people outside  of our humble brigade! This is the garage floor which really should be called  Clay's shop floor haha let's be honest here :) the mastermind at hand :) ten years ago we took this photo upon our move into the Milkbarn, the home that changed me, changed all of us really. What an era that was for us! I mentioned to Clay as we build our home here on the coast,  my heart will finally mend from leaving Boulder. We are much older(sigh),  much wiser(that's good!),  and even more patient(almost killed us and we wanted to quit too many times to count). But here we are.  The immense joy we get when we work together creatively is really something else. It's taken us forever. The pieces are fitting together. God definitely took his time with us. And now...we're back :) (p.s. most of what we'll do will be in my stories section on my instagram @jenniferjoycolli
