Audrey's 15th!

Another trip around the sun for Audrey!
We began her birthday weekend with a Saturday outing for a quick photo shoot.
I really think our kids seem to change the most between 14 and 15.
These teen years are definitely fleeting :)

This is an artichoke field just a couple miles down the road from us and I thought the color would be just the right punch for the background!
She let me take her photos for a few minutes😀

Fyi, it also smells like artichokes (choke 😜 )

Outdoor dining became available on the same day we decided to head out for a mother/daughter day.
We strolled Burlingame Avenue, had lunch at the Crepevine and did a little shopping. You would have thought it was Disneyland...people were out everywhere, making connections over lunch, strolling, smiling...chatting,...it was a happy scene!

She went to seminary and online school and then we prepped for her birthday!
But I have zero pictures of that :(
But I did get a video of us singing to her with Lucy over a video call!
So, I screenshotted some pics of that :)
Dad made her burgers, I made her the chocolate cake (both her favorites), opened presents and watched a movie.

 Audrey loves to explore.
Whether it's a city, the beach, a trail...she likes the experience of being out
She is becoming a very good baker...something I admire since I am only proficient at cookies and sheet cakes :)
She is a ferocious reader...something that did not come easily to her as she had to work hard to learn to read and was finally getting it by mid third grade.
She has a strong sense of self...she really knows where her boundaries are and visualizes what she wants to do next.
She is soft spoken unless yelling at her brothers...😂
She laughs easily and is the first one to dish out a cutting observation on life around her...she shows no mercy on old church videos in seminary.

Audrey, your life has changed twice over in the last 2 years with 2 moves.
It's been hard and disruptive for you.
But here you are, showing us all faith while doing hard things.
We love you!
Happy 15th Audrey Cornelia 💗

Audrey Graduates!

And just like that, she is done with high school! A couple of days before, I had her try on all the cords she received. We have lovingly teased her about being a boss lady for quite sometime, but it is a legitimate moniker! I think she was pleased to have more cords than her older siblings too:) Cords and what they represent: white-Seminary graduate red- Red Cross club rainbow- art for 2+ years with an A purple-maintaining a 4.0 GPA for 7+ semesters blue & green- completing 200+ service hours blue & gold- National Honor Society club She decorated her cap as a future cougar:) Still planning her outfits out since kindergarten and I love it. Picking up the older kids the day of her graduation...haha Our go-to Hawaiian plate lunch meal for graduation! 💗Ready to go💗 Aunt Marcie flew in for the best surprise visit!  She made it memorable for everyone.  And served as our graduation photographer. If I hadn't been so busy, I would have cried upon her arrival💗 Cougar for life! It

London Layovers

This post is going backwards because this is one of the last photos I took in London before we went home.  I was also feeling very sick but adrenaline kicked in....because hello, it's LONDON ! I completely loved London.  I wasn't expecting that at all.  I thought I'd like it but I LOVED it.   I'm already calculating when I can go back with the girls:) Our charter bus from the cruise dropped us at Heathrow 7 hours early and the airline attendant when checking our bags noted that we  "were quite early" :) So we hopped on the Elizabeth Line and walked over to Hyde Park. It was full of friends, and dogs off leash with their owners, families...just everything. It just felt perfect. Like, was this real? Am I in a movie? Are these accents real? Oh wait...I'm the one with the accent:)  ( Remember, I have never really traveled outside of the the country and now the pandoras box of traveling is officially open...okay,  I digress...) Anyway, back to our afternoon  i

We Are Officially Building That House!

And....we're off! First concrete pour was a success Along with a crew involving other people outside  of our humble brigade! This is the garage floor which really should be called  Clay's shop floor haha let's be honest here :) the mastermind at hand :) ten years ago we took this photo upon our move into the Milkbarn, the home that changed me, changed all of us really. What an era that was for us! I mentioned to Clay as we build our home here on the coast,  my heart will finally mend from leaving Boulder. We are much older(sigh),  much wiser(that's good!),  and even more patient(almost killed us and we wanted to quit too many times to count). But here we are.  The immense joy we get when we work together creatively is really something else. It's taken us forever. The pieces are fitting together. God definitely took his time with us. And now...we're back :) (p.s. most of what we'll do will be in my stories section on my instagram @jenniferjoycolli
