no phone january

At the start of the year, I discontinued all my social media
(except for one small blog post about going to the national parks! )
I also did not take any photos of much.
I was so sick of my phone!

I just needed a break from my phone and as my friend put it,
"you only have so much bandwidth in your brain right now"

I was physically and mentally exhausted.
The break was just what I needed.

January moments...

I captured 3 of the 10 red heads that go to Canyon High School
after Lucy's game :)

We got rid of the jade green walls in our master bedroom!

Clay told me, "it's been a long time since I've shown you I love you"
💗

Me and Chester shuttling around town for football and basketball games. We squeezed in lunch. He always tells me "thank you mom" for taking him to games. He told me how much he liked me there and that "I was a good mom"
You can see why I don't mind being a part of a crazy Saturday sports schedule :)

snapped Lucy trying to read Beowulf
hahaha

professional shots  of her playing preseason!

Wearing spirit wear to her games!

post game monkey hug :)

what I text my brother going through 27 daily radiation rounds to kill the cancer in his mouth

The Tuesday after Kobe Bryant's death, we played Golden Valley and athletes stood linked arm in arm for a 24.8 second moment of silence.
Representing his respective jersey numbers he wore for the Lakers.

last but not least, I snapped a couple of shots while playing at Magic Mountain with Marty.
 I'm 48, he's 60.
Apparently still kids :)

He got me to go on rides that make me sick...

I'm still recovering!

January just feels like a year wrapped in a month.

5 out of 7 days are filled with basketball.
Crazy how that happened!
We love watching our children develop and take opportunities while being here. Who knew this was a super competitive basketball valley?
And here I just thought it's only offering was my childhood amusement park:)

Audrey Graduates!

And just like that, she is done with high school! A couple of days before, I had her try on all the cords she received. We have lovingly teased her about being a boss lady for quite sometime, but it is a legitimate moniker! I think she was pleased to have more cords than her older siblings too:) Cords and what they represent: white-Seminary graduate red- Red Cross club rainbow- art for 2+ years with an A purple-maintaining a 4.0 GPA for 7+ semesters blue & green- completing 200+ service hours blue & gold- National Honor Society club She decorated her cap as a future cougar:) Still planning her outfits out since kindergarten and I love it. Picking up the older kids the day of her graduation...haha Our go-to Hawaiian plate lunch meal for graduation! 💗Ready to go💗 Aunt Marcie flew in for the best surprise visit!  She made it memorable for everyone.  And served as our graduation photographer. If I hadn't been so busy, I would have cried upon her arrival💗 Cougar for life! It

London Layovers

This post is going backwards because this is one of the last photos I took in London before we went home.  I was also feeling very sick but adrenaline kicked in....because hello, it's LONDON ! I completely loved London.  I wasn't expecting that at all.  I thought I'd like it but I LOVED it.   I'm already calculating when I can go back with the girls:) Our charter bus from the cruise dropped us at Heathrow 7 hours early and the airline attendant when checking our bags noted that we  "were quite early" :) So we hopped on the Elizabeth Line and walked over to Hyde Park. It was full of friends, and dogs off leash with their owners, families...just everything. It just felt perfect. Like, was this real? Am I in a movie? Are these accents real? Oh wait...I'm the one with the accent:)  ( Remember, I have never really traveled outside of the the country and now the pandoras box of traveling is officially open...okay,  I digress...) Anyway, back to our afternoon  i

We Are Officially Building That House!

And....we're off! First concrete pour was a success Along with a crew involving other people outside  of our humble brigade! This is the garage floor which really should be called  Clay's shop floor haha let's be honest here :) the mastermind at hand :) ten years ago we took this photo upon our move into the Milkbarn, the home that changed me, changed all of us really. What an era that was for us! I mentioned to Clay as we build our home here on the coast,  my heart will finally mend from leaving Boulder. We are much older(sigh),  much wiser(that's good!),  and even more patient(almost killed us and we wanted to quit too many times to count). But here we are.  The immense joy we get when we work together creatively is really something else. It's taken us forever. The pieces are fitting together. God definitely took his time with us. And now...we're back :) (p.s. most of what we'll do will be in my stories section on my instagram @jenniferjoycolli
