Clay Turns 4 5 ! And then escapes

My big guy turned 45!
His work had a lunch for him and I got a text to join them which was fun!
Leda had asked me what his favorite food is...
(mashed potatoes with brown gravy)
She ordered it with some very good tri tip and beans
(wait, that's my favorite!)
Oh, and the most delicious tres leches cake!
I basically showed up for the surprise :)

The next day we woke up at the crack of dawn to bring Clay down to LAX for his "work trip"

He was invited along with the president of Fisk and 2 others to take this break.
(Nice timing for his bday!)

I can tell he is excited about going :)

Happy Camper

The text I received after he landed.
A full week with no wifi, breathing in fresh air, no disruptions, just time to completely decompress.
Fish, read, eat, sleep, repeat :)

Sitka, Alaska

There is his boat pulling in for his trip :)
(looks like the SS Minnow to me)
I was so happy for him to do this.

The boat pulling out. Bye Clay!

Then he texted me..."we should live here, how about a seaside cottage?"

And as always, I told him I will live anywhere with him.
He said he couldn't have had better weather for his trip.

Happy Birthday Clayđź’—

(that fish is fake, hahaha)
(but he actually did catch a halibut this big)

Audrey Graduates!

And just like that, she is done with high school! A couple of days before, I had her try on all the cords she received. We have lovingly teased her about being a boss lady for quite sometime, but it is a legitimate moniker! I think she was pleased to have more cords than her older siblings too:) Cords and what they represent: white-Seminary graduate red- Red Cross club rainbow- art for 2+ years with an A purple-maintaining a 4.0 GPA for 7+ semesters blue & green- completing 200+ service hours blue & gold- National Honor Society club She decorated her cap as a future cougar:) Still planning her outfits out since kindergarten and I love it. Picking up the older kids the day of her graduation...haha Our go-to Hawaiian plate lunch meal for graduation! đź’—Ready to gođź’— Aunt Marcie flew in for the best surprise visit!  She made it memorable for everyone.  And served as our graduation photographer. London Layovers

This post is going backwards because this is one of the last photos I took in London before we went home.  I was also feeling very sick but adrenaline kicked in....because hello, it's LONDON ! I completely loved London.  I wasn't expecting that at all.  I thought I'd like it but I LOVED it.   I'm already calculating when I can go back with the girls:) Our charter bus from the cruise dropped us at Heathrow 7 hours early and the airline attendant when checking our bags noted that we  "were quite early" :) So we hopped on the Elizabeth Line and walked over to Hyde Park. It was full of friends, and dogs off leash with their owners, families...just everything. It just felt perfect. Like, was this real? Am I in a movie? Are these accents real? Oh wait...I'm the one with the accent:)  ( Remember, I have never really traveled outside of the the country and now the pandoras box of traveling is officially open...okay,  I digress...) Anyway, back to our afternoo...

Sports Mom Era

I think I saw this coming but maybe I didn't really see this coming:) I am a sports mom. Plain and simple. I had other hats too like library mom, classroom aid mom, costumes for musicals mom, outdoorsy hiking mom, musical mom, jazz band mom, tech crew mom, art mom, spring break mom, etc etc etc But sports mom has been a pretty big theme in my life:) So, in honor of my Dad's birthday today and his absolute love of sports, I share this to save the memoires.  Because one day, it will be just that, sweet and crazy sports mom era memories:) Okay, so I love JV games because the weather at 4pm in the Bay Area and even coast side was amazing last year.
