Back to School Fools: 2019/2020

It happened.
My first kindergartner has entered her senior year of high school.
So many thoughts and emotions ran through my mind after I sent her off :)
I rummaged through all of my old photos.
(I may have choked up)
Turns out I had one with her on that first day at Spruce Elementary.
I also have one of me and Chester at Mesa Elementary
but not with Henry and Audrey.
I was disappointed by that discovery :(
But I think it kind of reflects the order of children. The first one seems to be well documented with ALL the firsts!
(oh, she said dada!she is holding a spoon! she is reading!she is going off to school!)
And the last is like...all the lasts...sniff sniff
(with a tear, oh...now I'm alone...there he goes! off to walking, and talking and school!)
And then Henry and Audrey.... the middles.
Not forgotten. I swear!
but as a mother, apparently I fell down on recognizing their first day of kindergarten.

 this is IT!
how did this happen?
She will be applying to colleges soon.
Insanity.

getting a ride with Dad :)

Chester didn't start school til Thursday so we went out for a sushi lunch :)
can you tell I have been crying?

ok, scenes from thursday

enough mom!

He was very anxious so I drove him to school and got there VERY early.
The minute he saw his friends all the anxiety washed away :)

Found his desk in Mrs. Green's classroom :)

2 friends from cub scouts :)

it was a full week of school and supplies and anxiety and pick ups and drop offs.
(insert more gray hair for Jennifer)
We ended it by meeting up with the Vetterli family.
We got 2 hours with our Connecticut friends down in Century City.
Not enough time but I think that sums up life.
We'll take the 2 hours.
We'll take every moment we can get our hands on and make it worth it.

Here's to a great year and class of 2020 :)
(I'm crossing my fingers!)

Audrey Graduates!

And just like that, she is done with high school! A couple of days before, I had her try on all the cords she received. We have lovingly teased her about being a boss lady for quite sometime, but it is a legitimate moniker! I think she was pleased to have more cords than her older siblings too:) Cords and what they represent: white-Seminary graduate red- Red Cross club rainbow- art for 2+ years with an A purple-maintaining a 4.0 GPA for 7+ semesters blue & green- completing 200+ service hours blue & gold- National Honor Society club She decorated her cap as a future cougar:) Still planning her outfits out since kindergarten and I love it. Picking up the older kids the day of her graduation...haha Our go-to Hawaiian plate lunch meal for graduation! 💗Ready to go💗 Aunt Marcie flew in for the best surprise visit!  She made it memorable for everyone.  And served as our graduation photographer. If I hadn't been so busy, I would have cried upon her arrival💗 Cougar for life! It

London Layovers

This post is going backwards because this is one of the last photos I took in London before we went home.  I was also feeling very sick but adrenaline kicked in....because hello, it's LONDON ! I completely loved London.  I wasn't expecting that at all.  I thought I'd like it but I LOVED it.   I'm already calculating when I can go back with the girls:) Our charter bus from the cruise dropped us at Heathrow 7 hours early and the airline attendant when checking our bags noted that we  "were quite early" :) So we hopped on the Elizabeth Line and walked over to Hyde Park. It was full of friends, and dogs off leash with their owners, families...just everything. It just felt perfect. Like, was this real? Am I in a movie? Are these accents real? Oh wait...I'm the one with the accent:)  ( Remember, I have never really traveled outside of the the country and now the pandoras box of traveling is officially open...okay,  I digress...) Anyway, back to our afternoon  i

We Are Officially Building That House!

And....we're off! First concrete pour was a success Along with a crew involving other people outside  of our humble brigade! This is the garage floor which really should be called  Clay's shop floor haha let's be honest here :) the mastermind at hand :) ten years ago we took this photo upon our move into the Milkbarn, the home that changed me, changed all of us really. What an era that was for us! I mentioned to Clay as we build our home here on the coast,  my heart will finally mend from leaving Boulder. We are much older(sigh),  much wiser(that's good!),  and even more patient(almost killed us and we wanted to quit too many times to count). But here we are.  The immense joy we get when we work together creatively is really something else. It's taken us forever. The pieces are fitting together. God definitely took his time with us. And now...we're back :) (p.s. most of what we'll do will be in my stories section on my instagram @jenniferjoycolli
