Almost Summer

This quiet house won't be very quiet anymore come next week.
School will be out and I am dying as much
as the kids are for some freedom!

pause
the only room I have kind of made ours in the house so far
(although we would like to demolish that brown hearth)

the boys have been living in a torn out office this year so i think it is high time to get this project done

my other project for summer is to turn this other office spot
(how many did the previous owner have?
4 in fact, haha, no idea why)

into a reading nook and guest bed area
I'm excited :)

my sewing space is done as well and I have my good husband to thank for it....so, I want to make stuff too.
Summer is looking industrious for me.
That is if the heat
doesn't sap me of all motivation.

Likely outcome though:)

I keep asking the kids what they want to do this summer.
Sigh.
It looks like I'll just have to TELL them what to do.

get a job
go to museums
go to the beach
basketball basketball basketball
go to all girls math camp at Duke university
( I know, that is bragging but she keeps it all to herself and she is my favorite almost senior)

drive to the store and buy groceries for me :)
oh...and look at colleges, no biggie!

YM camp to Big Bear

But the end of school play: Gold Dust or Bust was pretty cute,
he played Levi Strauss.
He memorized all kinds of parts and filled in for those who didn't show :)

Living History Museum : Marcus Allen

finishing up his football season

we celebrated with the kids for our 18th wedding anniversary
it was so fun and I think they really liked being a part of it.
I mean, they are the reason.
We knew we wanted a family but we never really talked about it before we actually got married, haha.

It turned out bigger than Clay had expected :)

Life's truly better with all of them in it

mexican feast at our secret spot

I tweaked the format of my blog hoping that would freshen up my outlook on things.
Is it confusing? Is it boring?
In all honesty, I feel like I am in a holding pattern feeling a bit confused and bored, haha.
So, while I am holding I would like to do some living.
This year has been a life that has changed and a life that is readjusting to new normals.
It has been pretty exhausting for me.

But, we made it through a whole school year here!

So onto to summer break next week and exploring this sunny spot of the world :)

Audrey Graduates!

And just like that, she is done with high school! A couple of days before, I had her try on all the cords she received. We have lovingly teased her about being a boss lady for quite sometime, but it is a legitimate moniker! I think she was pleased to have more cords than her older siblings too:) Cords and what they represent: white-Seminary graduate red- Red Cross club rainbow- art for 2+ years with an A purple-maintaining a 4.0 GPA for 7+ semesters blue & green- completing 200+ service hours blue & gold- National Honor Society club She decorated her cap as a future cougar:) Still planning her outfits out since kindergarten and I love it. Picking up the older kids the day of her graduation...haha Our go-to Hawaiian plate lunch meal for graduation! 💗Ready to go💗 Aunt Marcie flew in for the best surprise visit!  She made it memorable for everyone.  And served as our graduation photographer. If I hadn't been so busy, I would have cried upon her arrival💗 Cougar for life! It

London Layovers

This post is going backwards because this is one of the last photos I took in London before we went home.  I was also feeling very sick but adrenaline kicked in....because hello, it's LONDON ! I completely loved London.  I wasn't expecting that at all.  I thought I'd like it but I LOVED it.   I'm already calculating when I can go back with the girls:) Our charter bus from the cruise dropped us at Heathrow 7 hours early and the airline attendant when checking our bags noted that we  "were quite early" :) So we hopped on the Elizabeth Line and walked over to Hyde Park. It was full of friends, and dogs off leash with their owners, families...just everything. It just felt perfect. Like, was this real? Am I in a movie? Are these accents real? Oh wait...I'm the one with the accent:)  ( Remember, I have never really traveled outside of the the country and now the pandoras box of traveling is officially open...okay,  I digress...) Anyway, back to our afternoon  i

We Are Officially Building That House!

And....we're off! First concrete pour was a success Along with a crew involving other people outside  of our humble brigade! This is the garage floor which really should be called  Clay's shop floor haha let's be honest here :) the mastermind at hand :) ten years ago we took this photo upon our move into the Milkbarn, the home that changed me, changed all of us really. What an era that was for us! I mentioned to Clay as we build our home here on the coast,  my heart will finally mend from leaving Boulder. We are much older(sigh),  much wiser(that's good!),  and even more patient(almost killed us and we wanted to quit too many times to count). But here we are.  The immense joy we get when we work together creatively is really something else. It's taken us forever. The pieces are fitting together. God definitely took his time with us. And now...we're back :) (p.s. most of what we'll do will be in my stories section on my instagram @jenniferjoycolli
