Proms and Quincenearas!

I finally got to make a prom dress!

Lucy was asked to Mormon Prom LA by a boy in another ward 2 weeks before...so, we found a pattern she liked, went down to the garment district in DTLA and found a great fabric to use!

It took much longer than expected with all the pattern changes due to length, obviously!

but she is like a hanger,
everything just falls so gracefully on her,
she looked ready for the oscars really!

photos in the backyard :)

the peplum makes the dress, it was glitter head to toe as well

Her cute date Ethan

Dad lurking in the background...we actually just left them early. They do this whole red carpet walk down to the buses that take them to the venue but I think sometimes it is best to just leave teenagers alone and let them have their own moments.
Plus, they didn't care, haha, so good on them!

she loves pink and it was perfect with her dress

After we dropped Lucy off, Henry was attending the Quinceneara for his friend Gabriella. He was the head escort. It is a big deal! He has been to rehearsals for all the dances since February, attended a full mass, photoshoots and then the big party.
It basically feels like a wedding!

She did a traditional mexican folk dance

Got him in a photo, he was so embarrassed we were invited and actually there
hahaha

my hot date :)

the food was all homade by Aurelia, Gabi's mom.
I died over the fruit with pepper on it.

The party was at a ranch so she came in on a horse, she had cowboy boots on underneath her dress :)

They did waltzes and other dances, then family dances...we had to go dance with Henry and Gabi and the band introduces us over the microphone in spanish...we don't speak spanish sooo....
it took awhile to get the gringos up there :)
I think he will remember this night for a long time.
He made good friends while doing it.
I am very grateful Gabi asked him!

It is springtime here...the weather is perfect.
I don't want to move again!

the girls decorated our chalkboard for Easter

and our front walk is blooming with statice...it is so beautiful!

Audrey Graduates!

And just like that, she is done with high school! A couple of days before, I had her try on all the cords she received. We have lovingly teased her about being a boss lady for quite sometime, but it is a legitimate moniker! I think she was pleased to have more cords than her older siblings too:) Cords and what they represent: white-Seminary graduate red- Red Cross club rainbow- art for 2+ years with an A purple-maintaining a 4.0 GPA for 7+ semesters blue & green- completing 200+ service hours blue & gold- National Honor Society club She decorated her cap as a future cougar:) Still planning her outfits out since kindergarten and I love it. Picking up the older kids the day of her graduation...haha Our go-to Hawaiian plate lunch meal for graduation! 💗Ready to go💗 Aunt Marcie flew in for the best surprise visit!  She made it memorable for everyone.  And served as our graduation photographer. If I hadn't been so busy, I would have cried upon her arrival💗 Cougar for life! It

London Layovers

This post is going backwards because this is one of the last photos I took in London before we went home.  I was also feeling very sick but adrenaline kicked in....because hello, it's LONDON ! I completely loved London.  I wasn't expecting that at all.  I thought I'd like it but I LOVED it.   I'm already calculating when I can go back with the girls:) Our charter bus from the cruise dropped us at Heathrow 7 hours early and the airline attendant when checking our bags noted that we  "were quite early" :) So we hopped on the Elizabeth Line and walked over to Hyde Park. It was full of friends, and dogs off leash with their owners, families...just everything. It just felt perfect. Like, was this real? Am I in a movie? Are these accents real? Oh wait...I'm the one with the accent:)  ( Remember, I have never really traveled outside of the the country and now the pandoras box of traveling is officially open...okay,  I digress...) Anyway, back to our afternoon  i

We Are Officially Building That House!

And....we're off! First concrete pour was a success Along with a crew involving other people outside  of our humble brigade! This is the garage floor which really should be called  Clay's shop floor haha let's be honest here :) the mastermind at hand :) ten years ago we took this photo upon our move into the Milkbarn, the home that changed me, changed all of us really. What an era that was for us! I mentioned to Clay as we build our home here on the coast,  my heart will finally mend from leaving Boulder. We are much older(sigh),  much wiser(that's good!),  and even more patient(almost killed us and we wanted to quit too many times to count). But here we are.  The immense joy we get when we work together creatively is really something else. It's taken us forever. The pieces are fitting together. God definitely took his time with us. And now...we're back :) (p.s. most of what we'll do will be in my stories section on my instagram @jenniferjoycolli
