This is Halloween! Halloween! Halloween!

🎃our Halloween🎃

No worthy pumpkin patch near us and no time to take a field trip north so we decided the next best thing: Trader Joe's!
It was the best place we could go for pumpkins and all the treats.
We let the kids pick out what they wanted.
 A cartload of fun happened.
It was a fun family home evening!

little halloween things around the house

Audrey made this last year and she decorated her room with this and the candy corn garland she made for her bed :)

I unpacked the halloween stuff and put some things up on the mantle
haven't hung anything on the walls yet :)

the kids wanted a skeleton so we got one at home depot and named him Bobby Newport Bones.
So far, he has lost an arm and a leg :)

Chester had a Halloween party with his new cub scout pack

dressing up for our new ward's party!
The little kids kept attacking Audrey's costume, haha

Heading to the Hollywood Bowl for The Nightmare Before Christmas! It was absolutely fantastic. The movie set on screen with animation digital projections surrounding the shell of the bowl, full orchestra and original cast. The kids were blown away. LA has such a great scene for the arts. The best of the best performed.
The kids couldn't get over it!
Me neither. The music is still stuck in my head, haha.
I am so glad I got these tickets.
Clay and Chester passed on it :)

My artist friend Cristen recently moved to San Diego and we were near each other at the show so we got to say hello and she got to meet the kids she did portraits for :)

Audrey loves all the traditions for Halloween. She loves pulling the guts out. Meanwhile, Chester couldn't take it and tried to bribe her to pull his pumpkin guts out for him :/

Boys with knives...cub scouts paid off...they talked about knife safety while carving

finished!

Audrey and Nadeen

The older kids had friends over from church to watch a movie.
It was a pretty fun night!

And other things this month:
we got season passes to Six Flags Magic Mountain!
(again, my 9 year old self would be VERY happy about this, my 47 year old self might make it through 2 rides, haha)

Chester had a day off of school so we headed to Ventura. It was stunning. We could see the Channel Islands.
We have got to take a visit out there asap!

our backyard looks more like spring and summer not fall

this is the warmest place I have ever lived. I am so hot all the time. Then there is Clay. He is always saying he is chilled.
It's pretty comical :)

Audrey Graduates!

And just like that, she is done with high school! A couple of days before, I had her try on all the cords she received. We have lovingly teased her about being a boss lady for quite sometime, but it is a legitimate moniker! I think she was pleased to have more cords than her older siblings too:) Cords and what they represent: white-Seminary graduate red- Red Cross club rainbow- art for 2+ years with an A purple-maintaining a 4.0 GPA for 7+ semesters blue & green- completing 200+ service hours blue & gold- National Honor Society club She decorated her cap as a future cougar:) Still planning her outfits out since kindergarten and I love it. Picking up the older kids the day of her graduation...haha Our go-to Hawaiian plate lunch meal for graduation! 💗Ready to go💗 Aunt Marcie flew in for the best surprise visit!  She made it memorable for everyone.  And served as our graduation photographer. If I hadn't been so busy, I would have cried upon her arrival💗 Cougar for lif...

London Layovers

This post is going backwards because this is one of the last photos I took in London before we went home.  I was also feeling very sick but adrenaline kicked in....because hello, it's LONDON ! I completely loved London.  I wasn't expecting that at all.  I thought I'd like it but I LOVED it.   I'm already calculating when I can go back with the girls:) Our charter bus from the cruise dropped us at Heathrow 7 hours early and the airline attendant when checking our bags noted that we  "were quite early" :) So we hopped on the Elizabeth Line and walked over to Hyde Park. It was full of friends, and dogs off leash with their owners, families...just everything. It just felt perfect. Like, was this real? Am I in a movie? Are these accents real? Oh wait...I'm the one with the accent:)  ( Remember, I have never really traveled outside of the the country and now the pandoras box of traveling is officially open...okay,  I digress...) Anyway, back to our afternoo...

Sports Mom Era

I think I saw this coming but maybe I didn't really see this coming:) I am a sports mom. Plain and simple. I had other hats too like library mom, classroom aid mom, costumes for musicals mom, outdoorsy hiking mom, musical mom, jazz band mom, tech crew mom, art mom, spring break mom, etc etc etc But sports mom has been a pretty big theme in my life:) So, in honor of my Dad's birthday today and his absolute love of sports, I share this to save the memoires.  Because one day, it will be just that, sweet and crazy sports mom era memories:) Okay, so I love JV games because the weather at 4pm in the Bay Area and even coast side was amazing last year.
