Do you remember the 21st night of September?

September in California is sure pretty

for labor day we headed to Ventura to spend the afternoon on the beach and then we played tourist and walked on the pier and ate some pretty good tacos :)

This is our relocation/
"what are we doing" pose :)

Ventura Pier flanked with american flags

Then comes Patriots Day aka Chester's birthday...it was a low key family party

he asked for thai food...he got thai food

later in the month Henry joined the hiking club and they hiked Vasquez Rocks which is where a bunch of Star Trek episodes were filmed and lots of other films. California has a variety of terrain and weather so for our stay here, I want to explore all the parts we don't know!

We have been to Burbank almost every weekend for a tournament for Lucy, so we found this fancy bakery on the way.

gold flecked cake pops for winning the game

Homecoming is thankfully different here.
It is no pressure fun which is what we all needed/
( thank you universe!)
It was casual and had carnival rides galore and a dance floor outside. It was awesome! They had so much fun.
Ahhh, to be a teenager on those kinds of nights?
Do you remember the 21st
(technically the 22nd but oh well)
night of September?

September 26th was a great day, we got the keys to our house!!!

2 days later the movers showed up

we are up to our eyeballs in boxes and paper, here is a cute compactor for it all :)

We got to work right away and started painting the bad colors away.
I think that's all the remodeling we'll be doing for now.

thank you benjamin moore white dove

Clay likes to do this to me.
He says, "I'm ready to paint, pick out a color" meaning he wants to buy a 5 gallon bucket for the house within the hour and get started.
I had been looking at swatches for weeks via pinterest. So, I went with white dove which was recommended to me by Sarina who told me not to think about it since this move and selling the milkbarn business has taken it's toll on me. So as much as I want to take credit for a perfect color, I took her great advice and it looks fantastic!

As you can see the lighting might have to be switched out as well. I mean, it's bigger than Lucy!

We had a fall break so we just spent time here in the back and trying to unpack the kitchen :)

Being back in California has been, quite honestly, a big blur
It took us 3 weeks to get used to the driving again(i felt like a country bumpkin at first), I don't know if we'll get used to the heat out here or the lines of people and cars everywhere we go but...the produce is amazing.
Silver linings in September.
 We will take them!

Audrey Graduates!

And just like that, she is done with high school! A couple of days before, I had her try on all the cords she received. We have lovingly teased her about being a boss lady for quite sometime, but it is a legitimate moniker! I think she was pleased to have more cords than her older siblings too:) Cords and what they represent: white-Seminary graduate red- Red Cross club rainbow- art for 2+ years with an A purple-maintaining a 4.0 GPA for 7+ semesters blue & green- completing 200+ service hours blue & gold- National Honor Society club She decorated her cap as a future cougar:) Still planning her outfits out since kindergarten and I love it. Picking up the older kids the day of her graduation...haha Our go-to Hawaiian plate lunch meal for graduation! 💗Ready to go💗 Aunt Marcie flew in for the best surprise visit!  She made it memorable for everyone.  And served as our graduation photographer. If I hadn't been so busy, I would have cried upon her arrival💗 Cougar for life! It

London Layovers

This post is going backwards because this is one of the last photos I took in London before we went home.  I was also feeling very sick but adrenaline kicked in....because hello, it's LONDON ! I completely loved London.  I wasn't expecting that at all.  I thought I'd like it but I LOVED it.   I'm already calculating when I can go back with the girls:) Our charter bus from the cruise dropped us at Heathrow 7 hours early and the airline attendant when checking our bags noted that we  "were quite early" :) So we hopped on the Elizabeth Line and walked over to Hyde Park. It was full of friends, and dogs off leash with their owners, families...just everything. It just felt perfect. Like, was this real? Am I in a movie? Are these accents real? Oh wait...I'm the one with the accent:)  ( Remember, I have never really traveled outside of the the country and now the pandoras box of traveling is officially open...okay,  I digress...) Anyway, back to our afternoon  i

We Are Officially Building That House!

And....we're off! First concrete pour was a success Along with a crew involving other people outside  of our humble brigade! This is the garage floor which really should be called  Clay's shop floor haha let's be honest here :) the mastermind at hand :) ten years ago we took this photo upon our move into the Milkbarn, the home that changed me, changed all of us really. What an era that was for us! I mentioned to Clay as we build our home here on the coast,  my heart will finally mend from leaving Boulder. We are much older(sigh),  much wiser(that's good!),  and even more patient(almost killed us and we wanted to quit too many times to count). But here we are.  The immense joy we get when we work together creatively is really something else. It's taken us forever. The pieces are fitting together. God definitely took his time with us. And now...we're back :) (p.s. most of what we'll do will be in my stories section on my instagram @jenniferjoycolli
