Christmas Greetings!

I look forward to this time of year because we all get to be together!
Clay takes the week off between Christmas and New Years so we can all just be :)

Our year has been mostly just our keep on keepin' on mode
nothing dramatic
nothing life changing
pretty basic

At some point I think I might be the small one in the family!

(I hired Ashleigh at Red Aspen Photography to capture us in front of these mountains we get to live under everyday)

2017 and us
I volunteered at the elementary school last year quite a bit but this year decided to take a break to get some creative projects going.
I am somehow making more food than I ever thought I would in my life.
See growing children above↑

Everyone is happiest when Dad is around!
Clay has been building rail all over the country.
Also busy building stuff around the Milkbarn which has endless opportunities when he is home.
He teaches Sunday school and he is my partner in
dreaming up ideas for ourselves.

Lucy is a sophomore at Fairview, played JV volleyball but is happier playing basketball and singing and doing art next semester.
She was invited to go on a tournament with the varsity team to Florida this past week and
got to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
 Lucky Lucy!
Everyones goal is to be taller than her in the family
(as well as most boys at Fairview)

Henry is an 8th grader this year.
Plays music,
writes music,and
is basically made of music and fig bars.
He has made some good friends this year too.
He just got the part of Horton in Seussical, the musical at
Southern Hills this year.
He serves in a church calling and is literally growing
before our eyes.

Audrey is a 6th grader this year in middle school!
She has handled the transition really well and likes to point out she is in higher math than her older siblings were at this age.
She likes fashion and reading and wears her black converse everywhere she goes.
She will be working the crew Seussical and trying her legs in track and basketball as well!
She has a baking bug and I blame her for gaining 5 lbs this year, haha

Chester is in 3rd grade this year and as you can see, is in love with football.
He excels in math but his favorite part of the day is P.E.
He knows lots of things about football and basketball and can't decide if the NBA or the NFL is a better fit for his 8 year old future life.
He joined our neighborhood cub scout pack too and loves it!
I get to volunteer as an assistant den leader :)
He is serious and hilarious and still has the longest eyelashes
in the universe.

I am glad we are all on this journey together
This time of year begs us all to slow down and feel after the peace  the season brings to our hearts

Have yourself a merry little christmas everyone!
Love,
Audrey, Jennifer, Chester, Clay, Lucy and Henry

Sports Mom Era

I think I saw this coming but maybe I didn't really see this coming:) I am a sports mom. Plain and simple. I had other hats too like library mom, classroom aid mom, costumes for musicals mom, outdoorsy hiking mom, musical mom, jazz band mom, tech crew mom, art mom, spring break mom, etc etc etc But sports mom has been a pretty big theme in my life:) So, in honor of my Dad's birthday today and his absolute love of sports, I share this to save the memoires.  Because one day, it will be just that, sweet and crazy sports mom era memories:) Okay, so I love JV games because the weather at 4pm in the Bay Area and even coast side was amazing last year. Tee shirt and jeans? Heavenly  Fall 2024 (he already looks different) Friday morning fits Becky Ruppel photography↑ In the middle of football season lies the beast of the high school basketball pancake breakfast. It was actually fun to serve all of the people coming through... even the complainers...haha Homecoming! And nothing better t...

Audrey Opens Her Mission Call!

It's been so long since I wrote. but THIS! This needs to be recorded for all.  Earlier in the fall of 2024, after wondering why she hadn't had any specific experience letting her know if she should serve a mission, Audrey did receive her own personal answer. You already know. She called me and relayed her quiet yet powerful experience.   She later met with her YSA Bishop and opened her mission papers!      Everything fell into place with all her appointments and paperwork *phew  On the morning of December 31st...she received an email alerting her she had her call waiting to be opened in her missionary portal! She was all nerves haha So, we got ready and headed to Montara Beach per her request to read her call...and thankfully, we were all home to share this with her.  Such a sweet and tender moment to launch 2025 with💗 Dominican Republic  Santo Domingo East Mission! Spanish speaking June 2nd Mexico MTC after a week of home MTC :) I'm really proud...

Audrey's off! Santo Domingo East Mission

Here she is.  On a split.  In the campo(country)! Dominican Republic Time hop to May when she received her tags :) Her paper giving her permission to proselyte! Pre-mission things to do were: picture with flag at temple ✓ hikes in the sun✓ being set apart as a missionary in our home✓ home mtc p-day shenanigans✓ last taco bell supper :) ✓ hugs that need to last 18 months✓ Her first MTC phone call home. She had too much fun there but why not? This missionary mom will send you one package to the mtc... and that's it :) Upon arrival, she met her mission presidents!  Presidente y Hermana Chaverri Meeting her trainer in the field:) And after a mini transfer, meeting her new trainer! Her spanish will improve exponentially (she is from Nicaragua!)  The scripture she shared as she was in the Mexico MTC:)  I wrote it out so each day I could walk by it and remember her, and  remember the joy the gospel of Jesus Christ brings💗 I cry a little more nowadays but she has ...
