Happy New Year!

2016 in a nutshell
2016 was full of "adventures" that built my patience, enlarged my heart and taught me things I needed to learn.

2016 was also full of accomplishments within these Milkbarn walls.

I could not be more proud of Clay and how he has handled new responsibilities in his life and how I have seen our children grow as individuals.
*on a side note, the kids grew a collective 8 inches and the Milkbarn is currently in slow motion

So here is 2016

January brought us a broken well pump. First adventure of the year:)

and a trip to see my niece and nephews

February
Lucy's All State Choir evening in Denver

The Broncos won the Superbowl :)

My new year's resolution began in February because I wanted all the crowds to leave the gym. It worked!
With the help of a trainer, I got my body healthy again.

We were at a lot of basketball games too.

March
I turned 45.
I'm halfway done.
The older I get the less I know.
I'm hoping by 65 it will all come back to me, lol.

March also brought the Milkbarn a new driveway!

Can a driveway be gorgeous? Yes... yes they can.

And the best spring break we have had...Vegas!

April
Summed up with green grass and Audrey's pneumonia.

May
is for Mother's Day

And leaving middle school!

June
was for kids traveling to Alaska

and leaving us with more projects

July was spent exploring Colorado

August is best spent squeezing out every single summer minute here in Colorado

September
brought us a new temple in Fort Collins!

and a spectacular golden fall

October
was for football

He has plans for the NFL.
I kid you not, he really came up with a life plan with Clay and I yesterday morning.

November
where all the leaves get their last hurrah

and the snow begins to fall
(but it always melts...)

December
lights up Boulder and Audrey

I look forward to the new year.
But it seems fuzzy. Why is that? It feels different this year.

Still not quite sure as to what a new years resolution will be. Maybe eat less cookies?

I'll go with:

Come what may and love it.

Each year brings new hope, new challenges and adventures.
Whatever awaits, I want to embrace it all.

And as far as the Milkbarn goes, a new roof and painted exterior:)

Thank you for your encouraging words throughout this year(it means so much to me!) and charity in refraining from thinking we are out of our minds for still working on this labor of love.

"Collins family, are you ready to see your fixer upper?"

Let's go 2017!

Audrey Graduates!

And just like that, she is done with high school! A couple of days before, I had her try on all the cords she received. We have lovingly teased her about being a boss lady for quite sometime, but it is a legitimate moniker! I think she was pleased to have more cords than her older siblings too:) Cords and what they represent: white-Seminary graduate red- Red Cross club rainbow- art for 2+ years with an A purple-maintaining a 4.0 GPA for 7+ semesters blue & green- completing 200+ service hours blue & gold- National Honor Society club She decorated her cap as a future cougar:) Still planning her outfits out since kindergarten and I love it. Picking up the older kids the day of her graduation...haha Our go-to Hawaiian plate lunch meal for graduation! đź’—Ready to gođź’— Aunt Marcie flew in for the best surprise visit!  She made it memorable for everyone.  And served as our graduation photographer. London Layovers

This post is going backwards because this is one of the last photos I took in London before we went home.  I was also feeling very sick but adrenaline kicked in....because hello, it's LONDON ! I completely loved London.  I wasn't expecting that at all.  I thought I'd like it but I LOVED it.   I'm already calculating when I can go back with the girls:) Our charter bus from the cruise dropped us at Heathrow 7 hours early and the airline attendant when checking our bags noted that we  "were quite early" :) So we hopped on the Elizabeth Line and walked over to Hyde Park. It was full of friends, and dogs off leash with their owners, families...just everything. It just felt perfect. Like, was this real? Am I in a movie? Are these accents real? Oh wait...I'm the one with the accent:)  ( Remember, I have never really traveled outside of the the country and now the pandoras box of traveling is officially open...okay,  I digress...) Anyway, back to our afternoo...

Sports Mom Era

I think I saw this coming but maybe I didn't really see this coming:) I am a sports mom. Plain and simple. I had other hats too like library mom, classroom aid mom, costumes for musicals mom, outdoorsy hiking mom, musical mom, jazz band mom, tech crew mom, art mom, spring break mom, etc etc etc But sports mom has been a pretty big theme in my life:) So, in honor of my Dad's birthday today and his absolute love of sports, I share this to save the memoires.  Because one day, it will be just that, sweet and crazy sports mom era memories:) Okay, so I love JV games because the weather at 4pm in the Bay Area and even coast side was amazing last year. Tee shirt and jeans? Heavenly  Fall 2024 (he already looks different) Friday morning fits Becky Ruppel photography↑ In the middle of football season lies the beast of the high school basketball pancake breakfast. It was actually fun to serve all of the people coming through... even the complainers...haha Homecoming! And nothing better t...
