Master Sweetness

A reminder of what was once our master suite.
The wild and creepy jungle room.
Wonderful dead plants, a built in creek, a Bali inspired mural, wooden bridge, bench swing....it's like Fantasy Island was happening right here at the Milkbarn back in the 70's!

After sub flooring was put in.

Pre-sub flooring with Anders.

Pre pre sub flooring and getting all the earth out of the jungle room.
These memories are so vague.
Hmmmm... almost like my brain blocks it all out.

Taken 2 years ago.
Still, hardly believe this even happened.
Like, how did we even get that thing in the house??

And now, all cleaned up and almost ready to inhabit!!!

Looking from the main room into the master bedroom.

We took the hickory flooring into the bedroom and the closets.

Nice tall windows to our yard.
Trimmed in a craftsman style in decorator white semi gloss.

Sconces by Pottery Barn.
We actually have sconces!
For some reason, sconces seem like a grown up thing to do.
In the end, I should have gotten something better for reading in bed but guess what?
I can read about 2 pages at night before passing out so they might  be perfect. Maybe I'll only have to read a page now.

That fan.
It is clean and white but again after all is said and done, I would have opted for a nice crystal-y  vintage light fixture.
But this is where I have changed...
we have no air conditioning so this is a purely functional decision.
So, this is the prettiest fan I could find in our price range.
Go Lamps Plus!

The view from where the bed will be.
When we get rid of those sheds, it will be dreamy!

A friend told me about the Restoration Hardware outlet in Castle Rock. This particular vice has 40% off all month so somehow that makes it totally okay.
Clay's truck might be necessary on the next trip.
Best to be prepared.

Last weekend we trekked over to the trail head by our house.

Lucy likes to do these up close and personal shots of leaves.
Love them!

The house a week ago.
More yellow happened but the winds came down off the mountains last night and tore off the autumn leaves.

Chester's mile run.
That's him in the middle wearing gray.
 Always ready for a race.
Born to compete.

Audrey's mile
(my kids like to wear gray and basketball shorts)

I asked Lucy to "model" her middle school volleyball jersey, she never disappoints an opportunity to make me laugh.

And we finally started unpacking some boxes out of storage!

My mom gave me some dishes of hers for the holidays coming up, so those were set on the shelves first!

It is crunch time this week so wish us luck! We have to get the lounge done and master bathroom and some of the mudroom for an appraisal to get a real bank loan.
I can't wait to share more.
I have requests for paint colors I have used,
I'll try and get that in the next post!

Audrey Graduates!

And just like that, she is done with high school! A couple of days before, I had her try on all the cords she received. We have lovingly teased her about being a boss lady for quite sometime, but it is a legitimate moniker! I think she was pleased to have more cords than her older siblings too:) Cords and what they represent: white-Seminary graduate red- Red Cross club rainbow- art for 2+ years with an A purple-maintaining a 4.0 GPA for 7+ semesters blue & green- completing 200+ service hours blue & gold- National Honor Society club She decorated her cap as a future cougar:) Still planning her outfits out since kindergarten and I love it. Picking up the older kids the day of her graduation...haha Our go-to Hawaiian plate lunch meal for graduation! 💗Ready to go💗 Aunt Marcie flew in for the best surprise visit!  She made it memorable for everyone.  And served as our graduation photographer. If I hadn't been so busy, I would have cried upon her arrival💗 Cougar for life! It

London Layovers

This post is going backwards because this is one of the last photos I took in London before we went home.  I was also feeling very sick but adrenaline kicked in....because hello, it's LONDON ! I completely loved London.  I wasn't expecting that at all.  I thought I'd like it but I LOVED it.   I'm already calculating when I can go back with the girls:) Our charter bus from the cruise dropped us at Heathrow 7 hours early and the airline attendant when checking our bags noted that we  "were quite early" :) So we hopped on the Elizabeth Line and walked over to Hyde Park. It was full of friends, and dogs off leash with their owners, families...just everything. It just felt perfect. Like, was this real? Am I in a movie? Are these accents real? Oh wait...I'm the one with the accent:)  ( Remember, I have never really traveled outside of the the country and now the pandoras box of traveling is officially open...okay,  I digress...) Anyway, back to our afternoon  i

We Are Officially Building That House!

And....we're off! First concrete pour was a success Along with a crew involving other people outside  of our humble brigade! This is the garage floor which really should be called  Clay's shop floor haha let's be honest here :) the mastermind at hand :) ten years ago we took this photo upon our move into the Milkbarn, the home that changed me, changed all of us really. What an era that was for us! I mentioned to Clay as we build our home here on the coast,  my heart will finally mend from leaving Boulder. We are much older(sigh),  much wiser(that's good!),  and even more patient(almost killed us and we wanted to quit too many times to count). But here we are.  The immense joy we get when we work together creatively is really something else. It's taken us forever. The pieces are fitting together. God definitely took his time with us. And now...we're back :) (p.s. most of what we'll do will be in my stories section on my instagram @jenniferjoycolli
