So as far as I know: my contractor is back!

Grandpa came down from Alaska to help and
 I am so so grateful.
The Milkbarn is back!
And so, I present some progress in the last week.

This is the main room where the alpine lake mural lived
(still not sad it got torn down...this place was a hoarders nest and that mural was proof).
Getting ready for hand plastering.

Black thing hanging from upper right corner-
pipe for the wood burning stove to connect with.
Doorway goes into the master suite from the
main living/kitchen space.

Looking into the main room from the master suite or um,as we like to call it...the music room.
That poor piano.

So, this was the before tear out. Drywall is major progress don't you think? Electrical is in!
(side note:I hope we put in enough lights)

All ceilings are being raised to 9'.
We need tall people ceilings here!
Lucy just hit 6'1".
I know, is she going to stop???

And since the front door has been boarded off, the house is starting to look abandoned again (sorry neighborhood).
These trumpet vines just exploded in the front.
More hideouts for bunnies but with potential grooming,
these can be awesome.
Sigh. Next summer. Landscaping.

Chester requested that I take a photo of his Jenga creation today
We have had a very lovely summer, in fact...it has been my favorite since Audrey was 2. I think I found out the secret...
do things I like with the kids and ignore my phone.
Oh, and get my husband back from a year of working out of state.
So thankful he is home.
P.S.
Here is our future kitchen all sitting in boxes. Soon! Soon!

Audrey Graduates!

And just like that, she is done with high school! A couple of days before, I had her try on all the cords she received. We have lovingly teased her about being a boss lady for quite sometime, but it is a legitimate moniker! I think she was pleased to have more cords than her older siblings too:) Cords and what they represent: white-Seminary graduate red- Red Cross club rainbow- art for 2+ years with an A purple-maintaining a 4.0 GPA for 7+ semesters blue & green- completing 200+ service hours blue & gold- National Honor Society club She decorated her cap as a future cougar:) Still planning her outfits out since kindergarten and I love it. Picking up the older kids the day of her graduation...haha Our go-to Hawaiian plate lunch meal for graduation! 💗Ready to go💗 Aunt Marcie flew in for the best surprise visit!  She made it memorable for everyone.  And served as our graduation photographer. If I hadn't been so busy, I would have cried upon her arrival💗 Cougar for lif...

London Layovers

This post is going backwards because this is one of the last photos I took in London before we went home.  I was also feeling very sick but adrenaline kicked in....because hello, it's LONDON ! I completely loved London.  I wasn't expecting that at all.  I thought I'd like it but I LOVED it.   I'm already calculating when I can go back with the girls:) Our charter bus from the cruise dropped us at Heathrow 7 hours early and the airline attendant when checking our bags noted that we  "were quite early" :) So we hopped on the Elizabeth Line and walked over to Hyde Park. It was full of friends, and dogs off leash with their owners, families...just everything. It just felt perfect. Like, was this real? Am I in a movie? Are these accents real? Oh wait...I'm the one with the accent:)  ( Remember, I have never really traveled outside of the the country and now the pandoras box of traveling is officially open...okay,  I digress...) Anyway, back to our afternoo...

Sports Mom Era

I think I saw this coming but maybe I didn't really see this coming:) I am a sports mom. Plain and simple. I had other hats too like library mom, classroom aid mom, costumes for musicals mom, outdoorsy hiking mom, musical mom, jazz band mom, tech crew mom, art mom, spring break mom, etc etc etc But sports mom has been a pretty big theme in my life:) So, in honor of my Dad's birthday today and his absolute love of sports, I share this to save the memoires.  Because one day, it will be just that, sweet and crazy sports mom era memories:) Okay, so I love JV games because the weather at 4pm in the Bay Area and even coast side was amazing last year. Tee shirt and jeans? Heavenly  Fall 2024 (he already looks different) Friday morning fits Becky Ruppel photography↑ In the middle of football season lies the beast of the high school basketball pancake breakfast. It was actually fun to serve all of the people coming through... even the complainers...haha Homecoming! And nothing better t...
