Our Summer in a Nutshell: 2015

The lazy mornings of summer are coming to an end.
Here are some highlights of our time together.
I think we found the perfect mix of learning,
 playing and working this year!
I even got a few book reports from them. Ha!

Pool side with Audrey

My attempt at planting indoor herb plants.
It failed but looked so pretty for the first little while.
Although the lemon thyme is still doing great...go figure?

My basketball girls. Had a fantastic camp and can't wait to do it next year!

Still unsure how he knows how to throw signs.

Bear Lake
Took a trip up to Rocky Mountain National Park with fun friends.

It was pouring rain up in Estes Park so bumper cars
weas the thing to do after RMNP fun.
It was hilarious to watch!

12 hours later Henry was admitted to the hospital for a 24 hour antibiotic for an infection. He was a good patient.
He ordered grilled salmon and felt special.
I wish spiders didn't like him so much.

Lucy crowned me a mother of a teenager by turning 13.

Some of her friends after her party at Chipper's Lanes.

Then the 4th of July arrived and the Coons came over ready to celebrate along with Paul and Janet.
Thanks for the fireworks Dan!

We did not catch the bridge on fire this year.
No more amateur moves from us!

Teaching the girls to sew.
I was pretty methodical about it which paid off.
We have another lesson to fit in tomorrow
but I hope this will be something they will want to do for the rest of their lives.

That brown blob hanging there in the tree is a swarm of bees waiting for the scouts to find a new hive for them.
Seriously crazy and fascinating. We kept our distance though

Playing by the creek in our neighbors yard!

The view down to our valley on a cloudless summer morning.

We finally got a tire swing up!!!
of course it is a hit

Clay and I celebrated him coming home from working in Charlotte all year by heading to Aspen for a couple of days.

The Maroon Bells

Drenched in a thunderstorm hiking down to take the last shuttle.

One of our favorite friends came to town from Utah.

Henry achieved his Arrow of Light in Cub Scouts.

Having ice cream with just the best friends around.

For Henry's birthday we headed to the canyon to
Eldorado Springs Pool.
Best pool ever!

11 looks good on Henry.
He is almost 5'2".
I thought his legs and arms were looking longer.

Grandpa came to town and helped us work on the house!

I
Last event was getting ourselves to Elitch Gardens in Denver.
The kids had a blast.
And they rode every single rollercoaster there.
I made them.
Including the baby one.
I'm glad my kids are funny.
I love summer.
They are smart and funny and it is just so nice to spend down time with them.
Here is to many more!

Audrey Graduates!

And just like that, she is done with high school! A couple of days before, I had her try on all the cords she received. We have lovingly teased her about being a boss lady for quite sometime, but it is a legitimate moniker! I think she was pleased to have more cords than her older siblings too:) Cords and what they represent: white-Seminary graduate red- Red Cross club rainbow- art for 2+ years with an A purple-maintaining a 4.0 GPA for 7+ semesters blue & green- completing 200+ service hours blue & gold- National Honor Society club She decorated her cap as a future cougar:) Still planning her outfits out since kindergarten and I love it. Picking up the older kids the day of her graduation...haha Our go-to Hawaiian plate lunch meal for graduation! 💗Ready to go💗 Aunt Marcie flew in for the best surprise visit!  She made it memorable for everyone.  And served as our graduation photographer. If I hadn't been so busy, I would have cried upon her arrival💗 Cougar for life! It

London Layovers

This post is going backwards because this is one of the last photos I took in London before we went home.  I was also feeling very sick but adrenaline kicked in....because hello, it's LONDON ! I completely loved London.  I wasn't expecting that at all.  I thought I'd like it but I LOVED it.   I'm already calculating when I can go back with the girls:) Our charter bus from the cruise dropped us at Heathrow 7 hours early and the airline attendant when checking our bags noted that we  "were quite early" :) So we hopped on the Elizabeth Line and walked over to Hyde Park. It was full of friends, and dogs off leash with their owners, families...just everything. It just felt perfect. Like, was this real? Am I in a movie? Are these accents real? Oh wait...I'm the one with the accent:)  ( Remember, I have never really traveled outside of the the country and now the pandoras box of traveling is officially open...okay,  I digress...) Anyway, back to our afternoon  i

We Are Officially Building That House!

And....we're off! First concrete pour was a success Along with a crew involving other people outside  of our humble brigade! This is the garage floor which really should be called  Clay's shop floor haha let's be honest here :) the mastermind at hand :) ten years ago we took this photo upon our move into the Milkbarn, the home that changed me, changed all of us really. What an era that was for us! I mentioned to Clay as we build our home here on the coast,  my heart will finally mend from leaving Boulder. We are much older(sigh),  much wiser(that's good!),  and even more patient(almost killed us and we wanted to quit too many times to count). But here we are.  The immense joy we get when we work together creatively is really something else. It's taken us forever. The pieces are fitting together. God definitely took his time with us. And now...we're back :) (p.s. most of what we'll do will be in my stories section on my instagram @jenniferjoycolli
