Spring Break Stalled: March Madness?

I saw this today.
We were supposed to leave for our spring break trip this afternoon and 2 of my younger children decided to puke.
Really?
Oh yeah
It's been a slow moving flu through the house but this was a completely different virus.
Vomit, dry heaving, lots of shouts clamoring for MOM and BOWLS!
 I NEED a bowl!
So, we won't be leaving.
Phoenix will be waiting but I'm bummed.
Let's face it, my road trips alone with the kids
always need more preparing excitement.

2 of 3 pukers hypnotized by Ningago 8 hours later after screaming for BOWLS!
Okay, so let's get on with what little progress we have made this past month!

Nailed it.

If I think hard enough maybe I can will myself a job that is closer to my family and finish this house.

Beautiful craftsman style trim.
Door Frame built
This detail in a door frame is called a "reveal". Sounds like a magic trick...I unveil the....REVEAL!
oohs and ahs ensue.

Oh look! A new mound of dirt?
We have to upgrade our septic tank.
Got it Boulder County!
That's rule # hundred something.

All taped off for painting.
We just use the generic decorator white gloss trim paint from
Home Depot. Call me anytime for paint tips. Really!

Every project needs a little motivation.
I ate a whole bag of jelly beans.
And maybe a Reese's peanut butter egg.
This is a rough time of year for me at Target,
or any store for that matter.
Dang you Reese's!

They really helped us last weekend.

I did play some catch with Chester while I took a break from the jelly beans work.
In the process, a spiders egg must have hatched, it was like Arachnophobia out in the far end of our yard.
So much nature.
I just had to put this in.
Seriously, does she not always have the perfect lines?

Took the paper and tape down. This is the front room in the apartment.
Wall color is "Classic Grey" by Benjamin Moore.
How's that for obvious?
I am positive there are a million gray paints out there.
We are so close to squishing in this space to rip up our house.

Where does this bunny think he is? The Ritz?
Over the weekend I noticed some stretched out bunnies in the yard. All the debris has given them some nice homes.
Not for long wabbits.
We spent Sunday afternoon with our neighbors.
 Thank you for the cake!
And conversation.
And for all the little things you do for my family.

I dabbled in some chalkboard art last week for our young women in our church congregation.

Snow world turned into Mud World.

Lucy in the far left corner in all red.
And Lucy played a guy in Guys and Dolls.

As for leaving for our trip, I will have to wait.

Where are you all going? I would really love to hear!

In the meantime, I spotted this tiny patch of purple flowers on the front grass today while I got the mail.

Come on spring!
I'm begging for mercy here.

Audrey Graduates!

And just like that, she is done with high school! A couple of days before, I had her try on all the cords she received. We have lovingly teased her about being a boss lady for quite sometime, but it is a legitimate moniker! I think she was pleased to have more cords than her older siblings too:) Cords and what they represent: white-Seminary graduate red- Red Cross club rainbow- art for 2+ years with an A purple-maintaining a 4.0 GPA for 7+ semesters blue & green- completing 200+ service hours blue & gold- National Honor Society club She decorated her cap as a future cougar:) Still planning her outfits out since kindergarten and I love it. Picking up the older kids the day of her graduation...haha Our go-to Hawaiian plate lunch meal for graduation! 💗Ready to go💗 Aunt Marcie flew in for the best surprise visit!  She made it memorable for everyone.  And served as our graduation photographer. If I hadn't been so busy, I would have cried upon her arrival💗 Cougar for life! It

London Layovers

This post is going backwards because this is one of the last photos I took in London before we went home.  I was also feeling very sick but adrenaline kicked in....because hello, it's LONDON ! I completely loved London.  I wasn't expecting that at all.  I thought I'd like it but I LOVED it.   I'm already calculating when I can go back with the girls:) Our charter bus from the cruise dropped us at Heathrow 7 hours early and the airline attendant when checking our bags noted that we  "were quite early" :) So we hopped on the Elizabeth Line and walked over to Hyde Park. It was full of friends, and dogs off leash with their owners, families...just everything. It just felt perfect. Like, was this real? Am I in a movie? Are these accents real? Oh wait...I'm the one with the accent:)  ( Remember, I have never really traveled outside of the the country and now the pandoras box of traveling is officially open...okay,  I digress...) Anyway, back to our afternoon  i

We Are Officially Building That House!

And....we're off! First concrete pour was a success Along with a crew involving other people outside  of our humble brigade! This is the garage floor which really should be called  Clay's shop floor haha let's be honest here :) the mastermind at hand :) ten years ago we took this photo upon our move into the Milkbarn, the home that changed me, changed all of us really. What an era that was for us! I mentioned to Clay as we build our home here on the coast,  my heart will finally mend from leaving Boulder. We are much older(sigh),  much wiser(that's good!),  and even more patient(almost killed us and we wanted to quit too many times to count). But here we are.  The immense joy we get when we work together creatively is really something else. It's taken us forever. The pieces are fitting together. God definitely took his time with us. And now...we're back :) (p.s. most of what we'll do will be in my stories section on my instagram @jenniferjoycolli
