Spring Break Stalled: March Madness?

I saw this today.
We were supposed to leave for our spring break trip this afternoon and 2 of my younger children decided to puke.
Really?
Oh yeah
It's been a slow moving flu through the house but this was a completely different virus.
Vomit, dry heaving, lots of shouts clamoring for MOM and BOWLS!
 I NEED a bowl!
So, we won't be leaving.
Phoenix will be waiting but I'm bummed.
Let's face it, my road trips alone with the kids
always need more preparing excitement.

2 of 3 pukers hypnotized by Ningago 8 hours later after screaming for BOWLS!
Okay, so let's get on with what little progress we have made this past month!

Nailed it.

If I think hard enough maybe I can will myself a job that is closer to my family and finish this house.

Beautiful craftsman style trim.
Door Frame built
This detail in a door frame is called a "reveal". Sounds like a magic trick...I unveil the....REVEAL!
oohs and ahs ensue.

Oh look! A new mound of dirt?
We have to upgrade our septic tank.
Got it Boulder County!
That's rule # hundred something.

All taped off for painting.
We just use the generic decorator white gloss trim paint from
Home Depot. Call me anytime for paint tips. Really!

Every project needs a little motivation.
I ate a whole bag of jelly beans.
And maybe a Reese's peanut butter egg.
This is a rough time of year for me at Target,
or any store for that matter.
Dang you Reese's!

They really helped us last weekend.

I did play some catch with Chester while I took a break from the jelly beans work.
In the process, a spiders egg must have hatched, it was like Arachnophobia out in the far end of our yard.
So much nature.
I just had to put this in.
Seriously, does she not always have the perfect lines?

Took the paper and tape down. This is the front room in the apartment.
Wall color is "Classic Grey" by Benjamin Moore.
How's that for obvious?
I am positive there are a million gray paints out there.
We are so close to squishing in this space to rip up our house.

Where does this bunny think he is? The Ritz?
Over the weekend I noticed some stretched out bunnies in the yard. All the debris has given them some nice homes.
Not for long wabbits.
We spent Sunday afternoon with our neighbors.
 Thank you for the cake!
And conversation.
And for all the little things you do for my family.

I dabbled in some chalkboard art last week for our young women in our church congregation.

Snow world turned into Mud World.

Lucy in the far left corner in all red.
And Lucy played a guy in Guys and Dolls.

As for leaving for our trip, I will have to wait.

Where are you all going? I would really love to hear!

In the meantime, I spotted this tiny patch of purple flowers on the front grass today while I got the mail.

Come on spring!
I'm begging for mercy here.

Sports Mom Era

I think I saw this coming but maybe I didn't really see this coming:) I am a sports mom. Plain and simple. I had other hats too like library mom, classroom aid mom, costumes for musicals mom, outdoorsy hiking mom, musical mom, jazz band mom, tech crew mom, art mom, spring break mom, etc etc etc But sports mom has been a pretty big theme in my life:) So, in honor of my Dad's birthday today and his absolute love of sports, I share this to save the memoires.  Because one day, it will be just that, sweet and crazy sports mom era memories:) Okay, so I love JV games because the weather at 4pm in the Bay Area and even coast side was amazing last year. Tee shirt and jeans? Heavenly  Fall 2024 (he already looks different) Friday morning fits Becky Ruppel photography↑ In the middle of football season lies the beast of the high school basketball pancake breakfast. Here she is.  On a split.  In the campo(country)! Dominican Republic Time hop to May when she received her tags :) Her paper giving her permission to proselyte! Pre-mission things to do were: picture with flag at temple ✓ hikes in the sun✓ being set apart as a missionary in our home✓ home mtc p-day shenanigans✓ last taco bell supper :) ✓ hugs that need to last 18 months✓ Her first MTC phone call home. She had too much fun there but why not? The Milkbarn Path

Before fall came, Clay was determined to design and construct a walkway to the Milkbarn. Yay!!! Because we had a very narrow, shoddy (what? shoddy at the milbarn? *gasp*) ,  unevenly paved sidewalk to the front door which we knew needed a serious redo.  We bought the pavers from Lowes awhile ago and had them piled up in front of the house for months.  FYI, voles make homes under pavers.   Doesn't it look awesome ? Nice, wide, perfect curve and now easy to shovel when the snow comes. The curve looks just right against the angles of the house. I planted some tulips under the trees and near the front door.  I'm not holding my breath that anything will come up given my gardening expertise.  But again, I do believe in miracles. :) Truth! ! 1600 Sq. ft and going strong...and now with a pathway! I was trying to think of all the photos that have a pathway or walkway in them.  Here we are at the Fort Colli...
