Our Trip to New Mexico and Phoenix

Spring Break 2015 We drove down to Phoenix for a quick trip but stopped in Albuquerque. We took a look at Old Town and had so much fun, ate good food at The Church Cafe, met a really crazy weird artist, went into a fabulous gallery of Day of the Dead art(no pictures allowed though)and got some good ice cream. I really really like New Mexico. Something about it draws me in. Part of being a parent is making your kids pose  for photos like these.  After I took this shot of Chester he said,  "take another one, I wanted to say yee-haw!" Found this nice quiet courtyard away from the touristy stuff. This is my version of Mexican portraiture. This store held the below goods.  Best vanilla on the planet. Rockin' out in the car. Henry makes great playlists. Spotted Clay's dream truck being transported in Payson, AZ.  A 56' GMC.  They even painted it in his signature orange.

Spring Break Stalled: March Madness?

I saw this today. We were supposed to leave for our spring break trip this afternoon and 2 of my younger children decided to puke. Really?  Oh yeah .  It's been a slow moving flu through the house but this was a completely different virus. Vomit, dry heaving, lots of shouts clamoring for MOM and BOWLS!  I NEED a bowl! So, we won't be leaving. Phoenix will be waiting but I'm bummed. Let's face it, my road trips alone with the kids  always need more preparing  excitement.   2 of 3 pukers hypnotized by Ningago 8 hours later after screaming for BOWLS! Okay, so let's get on with what little progress we have made this past month! Nailed it.  If I think hard enough maybe I can will myself a job that is closer to my family and finish this house. Beautiful craftsman style trim. Door Frame built This detail in a door frame is called a "reveal". Sounds like a magic trick...I unveil the....REVEAL! oohs and ahs ensue
