This Door.

The day after Thanksgiving.
Construction contemplation.

This was the day before Thanksgiving.
Collins boys(including Clay) out cold in our hotel lobby in
Grand Junction,
which has a very cute Main street with a great pizza place called Pablos.

I digress, back to this really important door!

We took off the front door and finally painted it.
It was more about getting the door ready for the winter than trying to make this house look less like a junk yard.
Anything helps!

With all the leaves gone,
I feel like it looks crazy worse.
Making it all the more rewarding to finish.
Should I call a magazine for a feature?

I admit, this shot was a little late in the game.
So, here is a look at a 2nd coat!
3 coats are necessary for a front door.

Schlage hardware again.
Paint color is Lakeside Cabin by Benjamin Moore.
I thought about a red door(classic), a gold door(hipster), Clay votes for anything orange but the blue just kind of looks natural with the sky and surroundings.

Peeling back to show off the glass.

Imagine that raw wood trimmed in white.
And a new roof next spring.
And the frosty-ness removed from the windows.
oh yeah, I still need to paint the interior of the door.
That could happen but the probability is very low at this point.

I know what you're thinking. I can't believe I just read a blog post about a front door.
Lame.
I know!
I just re-read it.

So here is a jammie/hoodie/snowboot photo of Chester.
So much better now, right?
This is where all our stuff is.
It looks like we are storing a giant blueberry in there.
(We might be)

And newsflash!
I have thickened my blood enough to take morning walks in
24 degrees. My goal is to brave 10 degrees.
This was from the other day.
Pretty Colorado.

Audrey Graduates!

And just like that, she is done with high school! A couple of days before, I had her try on all the cords she received. We have lovingly teased her about being a boss lady for quite sometime, but it is a legitimate moniker! I think she was pleased to have more cords than her older siblings too:) Cords and what they represent: white-Seminary graduate red- Red Cross club rainbow- art for 2+ years with an A purple-maintaining a 4.0 GPA for 7+ semesters blue & green- completing 200+ service hours blue & gold- National Honor Society club She decorated her cap as a future cougar:) Still planning her outfits out since kindergarten and I love it. Picking up the older kids the day of her graduation...haha Our go-to Hawaiian plate lunch meal for graduation! 💗Ready to go💗 Aunt Marcie flew in for the best surprise visit!  She made it memorable for everyone.  And served as our graduation photographer. If I hadn't been so busy, I would have cried upon her arrival💗 Cougar for life! It

London Layovers

This post is going backwards because this is one of the last photos I took in London before we went home.  I was also feeling very sick but adrenaline kicked in....because hello, it's LONDON ! I completely loved London.  I wasn't expecting that at all.  I thought I'd like it but I LOVED it.   I'm already calculating when I can go back with the girls:) Our charter bus from the cruise dropped us at Heathrow 7 hours early and the airline attendant when checking our bags noted that we  "were quite early" :) So we hopped on the Elizabeth Line and walked over to Hyde Park. It was full of friends, and dogs off leash with their owners, families...just everything. It just felt perfect. Like, was this real? Am I in a movie? Are these accents real? Oh wait...I'm the one with the accent:)  ( Remember, I have never really traveled outside of the the country and now the pandoras box of traveling is officially open...okay,  I digress...) Anyway, back to our afternoon  i

We Are Officially Building That House!

And....we're off! First concrete pour was a success Along with a crew involving other people outside  of our humble brigade! This is the garage floor which really should be called  Clay's shop floor haha let's be honest here :) the mastermind at hand :) ten years ago we took this photo upon our move into the Milkbarn, the home that changed me, changed all of us really. What an era that was for us! I mentioned to Clay as we build our home here on the coast,  my heart will finally mend from leaving Boulder. We are much older(sigh),  much wiser(that's good!),  and even more patient(almost killed us and we wanted to quit too many times to count). But here we are.  The immense joy we get when we work together creatively is really something else. It's taken us forever. The pieces are fitting together. God definitely took his time with us. And now...we're back :) (p.s. most of what we'll do will be in my stories section on my instagram @jenniferjoycolli
