Phoenix Saves the Day

Brand new Phoenix Temple
I planned last month to head down to Phoenix for a weekend and decided to bring Henry. Marcie, my city living super cool sister says that is the best time to visit.
Two cheap tickets later...we had 84 degrees and sunshine.

We made a visit to the new Phoenix temple.
Many temples incorporate motifs found within the area in nature. This tree with little fronds found in Arizona are on the grounds and in the stain glass windows and etchings of the building.
It isn't open yet but I had Henry take a peek inside.
The architecture seemed very 1940's with a little nod to
Frank Lloyd Wright.

We peered over gates until we realized there was an entrance open to the grounds.
Good thing I went to college too figure that one out. Sigh.

Some of the Montgomery women were in Phoenix.
So of course we went out to dinner! I love them and miss them!

Jonah my nephew,
 morning version on the left.
Bedtime version on the right.
It's hard being a baby.

Ella and Danny. They fawned all over Henry.

My wonderful sister taking me to the BEST bakeshop.
I am attracted to all 3 of those words so it's like heaven for me.

My first real important purchase on the trip.
I'm too in love with this shop.
I want to have one.

Goodnight Phoenix.
Thank you for a dose of urban. Thank you to my sister who let me talk and talk and talk. Thank you to my family for giving me some time I desperately needed to get some love.

See?
I had to write about something warm, both in place and spirit!

Audrey Graduates!

And just like that, she is done with high school! A couple of days before, I had her try on all the cords she received. We have lovingly teased her about being a boss lady for quite sometime, but it is a legitimate moniker! I think she was pleased to have more cords than her older siblings too:) Cords and what they represent: white-Seminary graduate red- Red Cross club rainbow- art for 2+ years with an A purple-maintaining a 4.0 GPA for 7+ semesters blue & green- completing 200+ service hours blue & gold- National Honor Society club She decorated her cap as a future cougar:) Still planning her outfits out since kindergarten and I love it. Picking up the older kids the day of her graduation...haha Our go-to Hawaiian plate lunch meal for graduation! 💗Ready to go💗 Aunt Marcie flew in for the best surprise visit!  She made it memorable for everyone.  And served as our graduation photographer. If I hadn't been so busy, I would have cried upon her arrival💗 Cougar for life! It

London Layovers

This post is going backwards because this is one of the last photos I took in London before we went home.  I was also feeling very sick but adrenaline kicked in....because hello, it's LONDON ! I completely loved London.  I wasn't expecting that at all.  I thought I'd like it but I LOVED it.   I'm already calculating when I can go back with the girls:) Our charter bus from the cruise dropped us at Heathrow 7 hours early and the airline attendant when checking our bags noted that we  "were quite early" :) So we hopped on the Elizabeth Line and walked over to Hyde Park. It was full of friends, and dogs off leash with their owners, families...just everything. It just felt perfect. Like, was this real? Am I in a movie? Are these accents real? Oh wait...I'm the one with the accent:)  ( Remember, I have never really traveled outside of the the country and now the pandoras box of traveling is officially open...okay,  I digress...) Anyway, back to our afternoon  i

We Are Officially Building That House!

And....we're off! First concrete pour was a success Along with a crew involving other people outside  of our humble brigade! This is the garage floor which really should be called  Clay's shop floor haha let's be honest here :) the mastermind at hand :) ten years ago we took this photo upon our move into the Milkbarn, the home that changed me, changed all of us really. What an era that was for us! I mentioned to Clay as we build our home here on the coast,  my heart will finally mend from leaving Boulder. We are much older(sigh),  much wiser(that's good!),  and even more patient(almost killed us and we wanted to quit too many times to count). But here we are.  The immense joy we get when we work together creatively is really something else. It's taken us forever. The pieces are fitting together. God definitely took his time with us. And now...we're back :) (p.s. most of what we'll do will be in my stories section on my instagram @jenniferjoycolli
