BYU and Cal=the Collins kids

The 3rd launch in 3 years:)
From Cal Poly SLO as a freshman basketball player to Portugal as a missionary for the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints!
Here she is following what is right for her once again as a transfer student to BYU.
I think we all feel this was a divine pivot for her:)

Although, this incredible Dad had to work hard at wrapping himself around the idea of her going to BYU.
If anyone could soften his heart, it's Lucy.
Almost crossing the state line into Utah...
Almost but not really fitting her loft bed at her apartment
haha
She lucked out on a cozy apartment, near the side of campus she wants to be on, hit the jackpot with her current roommates (they are awesome!) and attending classes that are directing her on the path she will be most suited for :)
After getting her settled we spent the last day taking in the beauty and simplicity of Utah:)

She is well on her way!
She has made friends, been academically challenged and even...had some dates already.

I realized this past week that I have never personally prayed so much for my kids until now, that they are out on their own.
As I fasted today for a special young man in our ward, I felt the need to fast for our Henry as he contemplates his major and making a potential changes.
Henry began his sophomore year at Cal. Job intact, excellent grades, and boy, a lot of discovery.

I look at them and wonder about all of the various things they will do and paths they will take :)
It's exciting.
It also makes me worry.
haha

And telling people I have 2 children in college,
one at BYU and one at UC Berkeley...delights me to no end.
The confused looks, the questions, the comments...it reminds me of this quote of what it's like for us:)

"Do I contradict myself? Very well then, I contradict myself, I am large, I contain multitudes."
-Walt Whitman

I am so proud to be their mother

Audrey Graduates!

And just like that, she is done with high school! A couple of days before, I had her try on all the cords she received. We have lovingly teased her about being a boss lady for quite sometime, but it is a legitimate moniker! I think she was pleased to have more cords than her older siblings too:) Cords and what they represent: white-Seminary graduate red- Red Cross club rainbow- art for 2+ years with an A purple-maintaining a 4.0 GPA for 7+ semesters blue & green- completing 200+ service hours blue & gold- National Honor Society club She decorated her cap as a future cougar:) Still planning her outfits out since kindergarten and I love it. Picking up the older kids the day of her graduation...haha Our go-to Hawaiian plate lunch meal for graduation! 💗Ready to go💗 Aunt Marcie flew in for the best surprise visit!  She made it memorable for everyone.  And served as our graduation photographer. If I hadn't been so busy, I would have cried upon her arrival💗 Cougar for life! It

London Layovers

This post is going backwards because this is one of the last photos I took in London before we went home.  I was also feeling very sick but adrenaline kicked in....because hello, it's LONDON ! I completely loved London.  I wasn't expecting that at all.  I thought I'd like it but I LOVED it.   I'm already calculating when I can go back with the girls:) Our charter bus from the cruise dropped us at Heathrow 7 hours early and the airline attendant when checking our bags noted that we  "were quite early" :) So we hopped on the Elizabeth Line and walked over to Hyde Park. It was full of friends, and dogs off leash with their owners, families...just everything. It just felt perfect. Like, was this real? Am I in a movie? Are these accents real? Oh wait...I'm the one with the accent:)  ( Remember, I have never really traveled outside of the the country and now the pandoras box of traveling is officially open...okay,  I digress...) Anyway, back to our afternoon  i

We Are Officially Building That House!

And....we're off! First concrete pour was a success Along with a crew involving other people outside  of our humble brigade! This is the garage floor which really should be called  Clay's shop floor haha let's be honest here :) the mastermind at hand :) ten years ago we took this photo upon our move into the Milkbarn, the home that changed me, changed all of us really. What an era that was for us! I mentioned to Clay as we build our home here on the coast,  my heart will finally mend from leaving Boulder. We are much older(sigh),  much wiser(that's good!),  and even more patient(almost killed us and we wanted to quit too many times to count). But here we are.  The immense joy we get when we work together creatively is really something else. It's taken us forever. The pieces are fitting together. God definitely took his time with us. And now...we're back :) (p.s. most of what we'll do will be in my stories section on my instagram @jenniferjoycolli
