Henry's 16th Birthday!

Baby Henry's First Birthday! movie star looks :) Happy 16th Henry! Amidst a pandemic there isn't a lot of fun to be had here in LA but he requested to go to a record shop. We found one in Sherman Oaks on Ventura Blvd. called Freakbeat Records. So, some coolness and fun prevailed for our young musician!  He stood in line for his turn to go in...I told an older dude it was his 16th and first trip to a record store which was met with praise and excitement and "oh man! looks like he got the first one!".  He walked out with some classic 70's records :) We have watched Henry become more confident through this pandemic.  More settled and accepting of who he is. Now he is determined to strive to learn more and be more this year. We love you Henry. Your talents have no bounds.  I wrote this quote out for you and I'll leave it here for all to read.  I remember first hearing this when you were in 6th grade and feeling this would be meaningful to you one day.  "If yo

Summer of '20/ Part Two: Life

After living here for 2 years, it is obvious the best views are the sunsets :) Evening walks to chase sunsets are fun but honestly, the heat from the summer days coming off the roads makes us all sweaty. haha.  Doctor visits were almost weekly to take care of everyone's well visits and get Lucy her shots and records sorted out for the Cal Poly Athletic Department. The doctor found a slight curvature in Audrey's spine. We saw a specialist and he gave us the good news of it being a very mild scoliosis diagnosis. We'll be back to follow up in 9 months to see how it looks then! Shopping for dorm room stuff! We waited 45 minutes to get into IKEA...kind of felt like Disneyland but once in, it was a breeze. She seems set! Home church! How handsome is he getting? Day in El Segundo for haircuts Fourth of July! Picking up championship trophies from city basketball :) Go Splashers! Gardening has been a big theme for us this summer. Chester checking in on his bell pepper plant :)  I am

Part One:  being a 2 hour tourist in our city of Los Angeles! I wish more was open for our two hour tourists trips but we'll take what we can get right now. Covid expectations are real here. A bucket list must see...the Hollywood Sign  It was fun and the marine layer rolled in to keep it cool for a good morning trip :) A rare photo with me and Henry.  He voluntarily put his arm around me :) A milestone for the teen. Next stop was the Griffith Observatory which is located in Griffith Park!  (made famous by the movie, Rebel Without A Cause) two goobers mugging for the camera The new way everyone wears their masks here contemplation of her future was happening this day,  it was sweet to capture her in that moment Chester telling Henry he's doing it wrong, haha marine layer burning off, seeing the Hollywood sign from the park... the park has lots of wide trails to hike, run, or whatever on but I think I'm a hiking snob because of living in Boulder...too dusty and open here.  A
