Happy New You!

Happy New Year!

(our annual family selfie)

the daytime"lit" San Diego temple
We took a day trip down to San Diego and while waiting on my Dad,
so we drove down to the temple.

Clay and I walked around wondering where all the time had gone and reminisced about our wedding day.
Fun fact: we did consider eloping.
Then my little sister told me I couldn't do that to her.
(dang it!)
It could have been so easy.
But we are glad we shared that day with family and friends.
We talked about how the minute we saw one another in the temple
(before our sealing)
 every anxious thought washed away.
We held hands as the peace and calm of the temple set in.
Clay grabbed my hand and clasped a bracelet on my wrist that matched my wedding band.
 How romantic 💓
It was so special to us.
I knew we had been placed in the right place at the right time to find one another.

So, last week it was special to be there where it all started :)

the visit was to see Grandpa

He had been in the hospital but as we drove down, he got released.
 Yay!
We had a good, quality visit even though he wasn't feeling that great :)
As much as we have moved around and have loved each place,
it is a blessing to be closer to family right now.
Especially for these moments.

The week between Christmas and New Years is usually when Clay takes time off but this year was different. He has work to do.
We grabbed some time at one of Lucy's tournament games in Oxnard.

Grabbed a late night shake snack at Chik Fil A :)

Waiting on Chester's football practice :)

And then we spent the evening of New Years Eve at Magic Mountain :)

But we got home and kicked the kids out to a stake new years eve dance in Valencia!
(Audrey got to go to her first one!)

leaving Chester alone with Mom and Dad :)
it was quiet evening....too quiet!

then these goofballs decided to be "models"

oh sister

oh brother

So, we welcome 2020!
Trying to make some goals for the new year.
Clay has some. Audrey, Chester, even Henry.
Lucy and I are trailing.
She's like; my goal is to get into college!
I'm like; my goal is to not fall apart when she goes to college.
haha
No. I am really excited for her.
My goal has something to do with the below quotes :)

And using my new camera properly...and my new watch...and get over the feeling of being "done" :)

I think... maybe...as a family... we'd like to get out of "Collins survival mode"

and just how we go about doing that is the 2020 million dollar question :)
So here is what I have saved to keep me aligned with some of the things that are important to me.
The above just pretty much spoke to my core.

Here is to 2020!

Audrey Graduates!

And just like that, she is done with high school! A couple of days before, I had her try on all the cords she received. We have lovingly teased her about being a boss lady for quite sometime, but it is a legitimate moniker! I think she was pleased to have more cords than her older siblings too:) Cords and what they represent: white-Seminary graduate red- Red Cross club rainbow- art for 2+ years with an A purple-maintaining a 4.0 GPA for 7+ semesters blue & green- completing 200+ service hours blue & gold- National Honor Society club She decorated her cap as a future cougar:) Still planning her outfits out since kindergarten and I love it. Picking up the older kids the day of her graduation...haha Our go-to Hawaiian plate lunch meal for graduation! 💗Ready to go💗 Aunt Marcie flew in for the best surprise visit!  She made it memorable for everyone.  And served as our graduation photographer. If I hadn't been so busy, I would have cried upon her arrival💗 Cougar for life! It

London Layovers

This post is going backwards because this is one of the last photos I took in London before we went home.  I was also feeling very sick but adrenaline kicked in....because hello, it's LONDON ! I completely loved London.  I wasn't expecting that at all.  I thought I'd like it but I LOVED it.   I'm already calculating when I can go back with the girls:) Our charter bus from the cruise dropped us at Heathrow 7 hours early and the airline attendant when checking our bags noted that we  "were quite early" :) So we hopped on the Elizabeth Line and walked over to Hyde Park. It was full of friends, and dogs off leash with their owners, families...just everything. It just felt perfect. Like, was this real? Am I in a movie? Are these accents real? Oh wait...I'm the one with the accent:)  ( Remember, I have never really traveled outside of the the country and now the pandoras box of traveling is officially open...okay,  I digress...) Anyway, back to our afternoon  i

We Are Officially Building That House!

And....we're off! First concrete pour was a success Along with a crew involving other people outside  of our humble brigade! This is the garage floor which really should be called  Clay's shop floor haha let's be honest here :) the mastermind at hand :) ten years ago we took this photo upon our move into the Milkbarn, the home that changed me, changed all of us really. What an era that was for us! I mentioned to Clay as we build our home here on the coast,  my heart will finally mend from leaving Boulder. We are much older(sigh),  much wiser(that's good!),  and even more patient(almost killed us and we wanted to quit too many times to count). But here we are.  The immense joy we get when we work together creatively is really something else. It's taken us forever. The pieces are fitting together. God definitely took his time with us. And now...we're back :) (p.s. most of what we'll do will be in my stories section on my instagram @jenniferjoycolli
