February 2019: Queen of Hearts

                                                                            💘
February is a mix of triumph over January and the heart filled cooler days until March. It's like the happy bridge to spring.
But I live in a place right now where winter kind of feels
like a Colorado spring.
We even got snow the other day here!
Turning a Nike shoe box into a valentine collector

Chester's homemade class valentines :)

Audrey's socks given to her by her sunday school teachers!
She is kind of the queen of February

On Valentine's day Chester's class was invited to make lunch and decorate at the Santa Clarita Valley food services for both elementary school districts. It was a big honor, only one class out of the 4 districts it services was chosen by lottery.  He made the salsa and was a greeter to the guests including our superintendent!
And it was actually really good food.
I thought I should get him hot lunches since it made our homemade lunches seem so boring.
(oh, and he willingly wore the pink tee shirt I got him :))

Stephano and Brooke sat with me and Chester :)

I wore pink too...

Making my tradition for the kids!

I only made cake...no dinner. Sorry kids!

Clay took me out for dinner, it was so nice for him to be home. I wanted sushi. Being new here brings a search for restaurants and as we sat down at this new place... drank some water, and then left the restaurant. Music was pumping through a speaker right above our heads and it just seemed so annoying when all I wanted was to sit and talk with my husband:) We headed down the road and found a quiet and  decent vietnamese place. So, I was a happy valentine.

(Kids, don't spend $ on a restaurant if you aren't having a good experience! Just leave!)

The next weekend we headed to Arizona for Daniel's baptism.
 It was the sweetest.
We were so busy that I didn't take one photo of him!
But he wore a suit and was so excited and I was honored to speak about baptism before his ordinance.

(marcie just sent these to me, cute cousins)

We got back late to the hotel, it had been cold and raining and we hadn't had time to use the beautiful pools at the Westin in Scottsdale. So, Chester and I checked them out and found the hot tub. We quickly got everyone to come down and have fun...along with 2 ducks sitting poolside which eventually plopped in the pool.
And yes, Chester and Henry chased and scared them out, haha.

When we returned from our trip,
Audrey was installed as an Honor Society member at Sierra Vista,
super proud!
She did this all on her own.
We just gave her wings to fly with it :)

made a special lunch for Betty,
one of my sisters I visit through church
I am always blessed to visit those who inspire me.

Color run at school

February is full of saturday basketball, he is so fun to watch!
It's nice not to be stressed out at a game.
I'm sure that will come with high school though!

And finally February comes to a close this year
with Audrey getting her ears pierced.
She did great and we had 2 fabulous girls help her along
💘
like I said, she is the queen of February

Audrey Graduates!

And just like that, she is done with high school! A couple of days before, I had her try on all the cords she received. We have lovingly teased her about being a boss lady for quite sometime, but it is a legitimate moniker! I think she was pleased to have more cords than her older siblings too:) Cords and what they represent: white-Seminary graduate red- Red Cross club rainbow- art for 2+ years with an A purple-maintaining a 4.0 GPA for 7+ semesters blue & green- completing 200+ service hours blue & gold- National Honor Society club She decorated her cap as a future cougar:) Still planning her outfits out since kindergarten and I love it. Picking up the older kids the day of her graduation...haha Our go-to Hawaiian plate lunch meal for graduation! 💗Ready to go💗 Aunt Marcie flew in for the best surprise visit!  She made it memorable for everyone.  And served as our graduation photographer. If I hadn't been so busy, I would have cried upon her arrival💗 Cougar for lif...

London Layovers

This post is going backwards because this is one of the last photos I took in London before we went home.  I was also feeling very sick but adrenaline kicked in....because hello, it's LONDON ! I completely loved London.  I wasn't expecting that at all.  I thought I'd like it but I LOVED it.   I'm already calculating when I can go back with the girls:) Our charter bus from the cruise dropped us at Heathrow 7 hours early and the airline attendant when checking our bags noted that we  "were quite early" :) So we hopped on the Elizabeth Line and walked over to Hyde Park. It was full of friends, and dogs off leash with their owners, families...just everything. It just felt perfect. Like, was this real? Am I in a movie? Are these accents real? Oh wait...I'm the one with the accent:)  ( Remember, I have never really traveled outside of the the country and now the pandoras box of traveling is officially open...okay,  I digress...) Anyway, back to our afternoo...

Sports Mom Era

I think I saw this coming but maybe I didn't really see this coming:) I am a sports mom. Plain and simple. I had other hats too like library mom, classroom aid mom, costumes for musicals mom, outdoorsy hiking mom, musical mom, jazz band mom, tech crew mom, art mom, spring break mom, etc etc etc But sports mom has been a pretty big theme in my life:) So, in honor of my Dad's birthday today and his absolute love of sports, I share this to save the memoires.  Because one day, it will be just that, sweet and crazy sports mom era memories:) Okay, so I love JV games because the weather at 4pm in the Bay Area and even coast side was amazing last year.
