The Milkbarn Path

Before fall came, Clay was determined to design and construct a walkway to the Milkbarn.
Yay!!!
Because we had a very narrow, shoddy
(what? shoddy at the milbarn? *gasp*),
unevenly paved sidewalk to the front door which we knew needed a serious redo.
We bought the pavers from Lowes awhile ago and had them piled up in front of the house for months.
FYI, voles make homes under pavers.

Doesn't it look awesome?
Nice, wide, perfect curve and now easy to shovel when the snow comes.
The curve looks just right against the angles of the house.

I planted some tulips under the trees and near the front door.
I'm not holding my breath that anything will come up given my gardening expertise.
But again, I do believe in miracles. :)

Truth!!
1600 Sq. ft and going strong...and now with a pathway!

I was trying to think of all the photos that have a pathway or walkway in them.
Here we are at the Fort Collins Temple Open House,
 by the front walkway.

The pathway here leads me to come closer to God, my family and closer to my heart, if that makes sense.

Here is Chester's chosen path, it's like football called him before this life.

Waiting on our path for the school bus for our 1st fall morning.
Fog comes to Colorado about 3 times a year.

My pathway into motherhood.
I forgot how small and busy we all were.
Now they are big and way busier...and I am happier than I thought I would ever be.
I love it.

On the path together with Clay.
This path started all the other ones:)

Clay sent this to me a few weeks ago, here I am towards the beginning of Chester's life.
I can't wait to see what paths all my babies take one day.

I thought my path was here.
But sometimes our path in life takes detours and those detours can teach us to be better, smarter, courageous and flexible.
Detours are necessary to gain knowledge.

Here is our current path.

See how good this pathway looks on us right now?

Every path leads to opening a door.
Sometimes even a cute blue door.

(seriously, about that exterior paint job?
patience Jennifer, patience...)

My Mom would always tell me,
"when one door closes, another one opens in life."

Have a good weekend!
The next project to report on is that mudroom
that is making me amazing.
lolololololololol.

  1. Oh,my Jennifer! I love the new pathway. I love your family. I love that somehow, in life's craziness, our paths crossed and you made me a better person.

Audrey Graduates!

And just like that, she is done with high school! A couple of days before, I had her try on all the cords she received. We have lovingly teased her about being a boss lady for quite sometime, but it is a legitimate moniker! I think she was pleased to have more cords than her older siblings too:) Cords and what they represent: white-Seminary graduate red- Red Cross club rainbow- art for 2+ years with an A purple-maintaining a 4.0 GPA for 7+ semesters blue & green- completing 200+ service hours blue & gold- National Honor Society club She decorated her cap as a future cougar:) Still planning her outfits out since kindergarten and I love it. Picking up the older kids the day of her graduation...haha Our go-to Hawaiian plate lunch meal for graduation! 💗Ready to go💗 Aunt Marcie flew in for the best surprise visit!  She made it memorable for everyone.  And served as our graduation photographer. If I hadn't been so busy, I would have cried upon her arrival💗 Cougar for life! It

London Layovers

This post is going backwards because this is one of the last photos I took in London before we went home.  I was also feeling very sick but adrenaline kicked in....because hello, it's LONDON ! I completely loved London.  I wasn't expecting that at all.  I thought I'd like it but I LOVED it.   I'm already calculating when I can go back with the girls:) Our charter bus from the cruise dropped us at Heathrow 7 hours early and the airline attendant when checking our bags noted that we  "were quite early" :) So we hopped on the Elizabeth Line and walked over to Hyde Park. It was full of friends, and dogs off leash with their owners, families...just everything. It just felt perfect. Like, was this real? Am I in a movie? Are these accents real? Oh wait...I'm the one with the accent:)  ( Remember, I have never really traveled outside of the the country and now the pandoras box of traveling is officially open...okay,  I digress...) Anyway, back to our afternoon  i

We Are Officially Building That House!

And....we're off! First concrete pour was a success Along with a crew involving other people outside  of our humble brigade! This is the garage floor which really should be called  Clay's shop floor haha let's be honest here :) the mastermind at hand :) ten years ago we took this photo upon our move into the Milkbarn, the home that changed me, changed all of us really. What an era that was for us! I mentioned to Clay as we build our home here on the coast,  my heart will finally mend from leaving Boulder. We are much older(sigh),  much wiser(that's good!),  and even more patient(almost killed us and we wanted to quit too many times to count). But here we are.  The immense joy we get when we work together creatively is really something else. It's taken us forever. The pieces are fitting together. God definitely took his time with us. And now...we're back :) (p.s. most of what we'll do will be in my stories section on my instagram @jenniferjoycolli
