Almost there little Apartment

We have made some progress the last 2 weeks on the apartment.
I swear(!)it will be done soon.
Fingers crossed and many construction prayers offered over here.
We need to rip up the inside of the Milkbarn pronto.

This is a stud finder.
I mean, that joke just wrote itself.
I digress.

Okay! Moving on.
The new septic tank was installed. Sullivan Septic  did the install. Honestly, the nicest guys to have around.
They all kept me company and made sure the kids were feeling better.
Um, having no ability to flush a toilet when kids have a rotovirus?
Miracle #39- noone needed the bathroom for most of that day!

Apartment bathroom in progress.
Had to do bead board!

Clay and Audrey did the tiling.
Cool herringbone placement with just an in stock Lowes tile.

Taped off and painting!
My friend keeps telling me; paint is a good sign.
True true!

After debating what the heck to do with the bedroom in the apartment (the previous owner glued sound proof tiles to the ceiling and we couldn't get them off), last Thursday night I heard a ruckus to find Clay had torn the whole thing out.
So now, the re-dry walling begins.

It's official: Clay owns any and every tool necessary to build anything.
Even an ark.
I walked in and was like...does this belong on a sail boat?
This, my friends, is a Dry Wall Hoist.
After we dry walled the room we needed to insulate the ceiling.

The insulating dream team here.

The shredded paper insulation is cut open and put into that tub below where a hose shoots it out to where you need it.

The last few weeks have been super busy.

Lucy was in 3 acts of the school talent show. It was awesome.

Henry's "C" plane from his Science Fair project;
Which Paper Airplane goes the farthest?
It was C. See?

Audrey decided to wear homework heels while doing Math.

And I randomly modeled for Audrey in my church outfit...which made me curious to start an IG account of my
weekend clothes worn at the Milkbarn.
But then, that would be paint stained yoga paints and face masks. Please reply if you dare me too.

And then I found this.
Hey there Clay Clay.

Next time- Completion photos of the apartment and
a top 10 list of what not to do in a remodeling project!
And maybe in the near future...what happened to our pigs?

  2. I'd you need a deadline for apartment completion, I'd say July 13th then I can see it in it's full glory! I love your life adventures almost as much as I love you. I'm wondering if the pigs have anything to do with easter dinner. . .

Audrey Graduates!

And just like that, she is done with high school! A couple of days before, I had her try on all the cords she received. We have lovingly teased her about being a boss lady for quite sometime, but it is a legitimate moniker! I think she was pleased to have more cords than her older siblings too:) Cords and what they represent: white-Seminary graduate red- Red Cross club rainbow- art for 2+ years with an A purple-maintaining a 4.0 GPA for 7+ semesters blue & green- completing 200+ service hours blue & gold- National Honor Society club She decorated her cap as a future cougar:) Still planning her outfits out since kindergarten and I love it. Picking up the older kids the day of her graduation...haha Our go-to Hawaiian plate lunch meal for graduation! 💗Ready to go💗 Aunt Marcie flew in for the best surprise visit!  She made it memorable for everyone.  And served as our graduation photographer. If I hadn't been so busy, I would have cried upon her arrival💗 Cougar for life! It

London Layovers

This post is going backwards because this is one of the last photos I took in London before we went home.  I was also feeling very sick but adrenaline kicked in....because hello, it's LONDON ! I completely loved London.  I wasn't expecting that at all.  I thought I'd like it but I LOVED it.   I'm already calculating when I can go back with the girls:) Our charter bus from the cruise dropped us at Heathrow 7 hours early and the airline attendant when checking our bags noted that we  "were quite early" :) So we hopped on the Elizabeth Line and walked over to Hyde Park. It was full of friends, and dogs off leash with their owners, families...just everything. It just felt perfect. Like, was this real? Am I in a movie? Are these accents real? Oh wait...I'm the one with the accent:)  ( Remember, I have never really traveled outside of the the country and now the pandoras box of traveling is officially open...okay,  I digress...) Anyway, back to our afternoon  i

We Are Officially Building That House!

And....we're off! First concrete pour was a success Along with a crew involving other people outside  of our humble brigade! This is the garage floor which really should be called  Clay's shop floor haha let's be honest here :) the mastermind at hand :) ten years ago we took this photo upon our move into the Milkbarn, the home that changed me, changed all of us really. What an era that was for us! I mentioned to Clay as we build our home here on the coast,  my heart will finally mend from leaving Boulder. We are much older(sigh),  much wiser(that's good!),  and even more patient(almost killed us and we wanted to quit too many times to count). But here we are.  The immense joy we get when we work together creatively is really something else. It's taken us forever. The pieces are fitting together. God definitely took his time with us. And now...we're back :) (p.s. most of what we'll do will be in my stories section on my instagram @jenniferjoycolli
