Aspen Mania

We took a fall drive today.
The autumnal equinox is 2 days away and I was really itching to get out of the house.
My heart soared.

Love those aspen tree trunks.

Stopped at one of our favorite places to hang out.
Chester sat in dog poo here.
On this rock.
Really?
And then so did Audrey.
LOL.

Audrey instructed me to get a shot of the red rimmed aspen leaves.

Lucy asked to get a shot of the ombre colored aspens for a future pastel.

Then a really nice woman offered to take a photo of me with the children. This is when I wish we were wearing more muted fall colors or just anything to accent the beauty around us.
 Always designing in my head.
It's a problem sometimes.
Sometimes I imagine I was on a sub committee for designing the earth for Heavenly Father.
I'm pretty sure I was on the color and proportion team.

Chester kept shouting for joy,
"It's aspen mania!! I want to kiss those trees"

Gray skies are my favorite with fall foliage.
Somehow mother nature just pops those colors out with the darker back drop. To die for.

Lucy took this shot off the Peak to Peak highway.

I am clinging to this quote right now. We all ebb and flow in life. And there are markers for change in all of us.
That is what real life is meant to be;
to change and become better versions of ourselves.
Little steps at a time.
But this quote is far more accurate about how I am really doing.
I laughed so hard I cried.
 Thanks Andy Dwyer.

Audrey Graduates!

And just like that, she is done with high school! A couple of days before, I had her try on all the cords she received. We have lovingly teased her about being a boss lady for quite sometime, but it is a legitimate moniker! I think she was pleased to have more cords than her older siblings too:) Cords and what they represent: white-Seminary graduate red- Red Cross club rainbow- art for 2+ years with an A purple-maintaining a 4.0 GPA for 7+ semesters blue & green- completing 200+ service hours blue & gold- National Honor Society club She decorated her cap as a future cougar:) Still planning her outfits out since kindergarten and I love it. Picking up the older kids the day of her graduation...haha Our go-to Hawaiian plate lunch meal for graduation! 💗Ready to go💗 Aunt Marcie flew in for the best surprise visit!  She made it memorable for everyone.  And served as our graduation photographer. If I hadn't been so busy, I would have cried upon her arrival💗 Cougar for life! It

London Layovers

This post is going backwards because this is one of the last photos I took in London before we went home.  I was also feeling very sick but adrenaline kicked in....because hello, it's LONDON ! I completely loved London.  I wasn't expecting that at all.  I thought I'd like it but I LOVED it.   I'm already calculating when I can go back with the girls:) Our charter bus from the cruise dropped us at Heathrow 7 hours early and the airline attendant when checking our bags noted that we  "were quite early" :) So we hopped on the Elizabeth Line and walked over to Hyde Park. It was full of friends, and dogs off leash with their owners, families...just everything. It just felt perfect. Like, was this real? Am I in a movie? Are these accents real? Oh wait...I'm the one with the accent:)  ( Remember, I have never really traveled outside of the the country and now the pandoras box of traveling is officially open...okay,  I digress...) Anyway, back to our afternoon  i

We Are Officially Building That House!

And....we're off! First concrete pour was a success Along with a crew involving other people outside  of our humble brigade! This is the garage floor which really should be called  Clay's shop floor haha let's be honest here :) the mastermind at hand :) ten years ago we took this photo upon our move into the Milkbarn, the home that changed me, changed all of us really. What an era that was for us! I mentioned to Clay as we build our home here on the coast,  my heart will finally mend from leaving Boulder. We are much older(sigh),  much wiser(that's good!),  and even more patient(almost killed us and we wanted to quit too many times to count). But here we are.  The immense joy we get when we work together creatively is really something else. It's taken us forever. The pieces are fitting together. God definitely took his time with us. And now...we're back :) (p.s. most of what we'll do will be in my stories section on my instagram @jenniferjoycolli
